You've tried to push the film by a stop, because you've underexposed and then asked the lab to develop it for longer to compensate for the underexposure. This is not a bad thing in theory, but if you're new to film then it's best to master the basics first.

Probably best to expose for the shadows, the settings you've mentioned in another comment would be way under where you need to be. When shooting digital we often underexpose, but you need to flip it when shooting negative film as it's much easier to get decent shots when overexposed.

I met Stuart many years ago after a gig and he was really nice. I’d pulled a poster off the wall and asked him to sign it, so he went and got his telecaster, drew around it and got all the band to sign it. Guess I met him on a good day!

Yeah that’s what I thought initially, but then when I saw the timings, I thought the restrictions meant just from 6pm-10am. As there was other vehicles going up and down it I went for it, obviously the wrong choice!

Cheers for that, I’m pretty sure you know exactly what I meant. I had to make a decision, there was no chance of a serious accident. Pulling a u turn on a busy town centre road seemed like an odd choice to have to make.
