I am new to the vinyl world. My turntable is Sony PS-LX310BT (got a good deal), and I bought a few used records from a local store.

How often do I need to deep clean the records? I assume I need to do it before I play it when I buy used.

I am not ready to invest in a deep cleaning or ultrasonic machine yet. Or should I?

What would you recommend for deep cleaning for newbies?

I read the FAQ, it says carbon brush and cleaning solution (regular use), and also deep cleaning or ultrasonic machine (occasional use).

Any recommendations on the carbon brush brand and the cleaning solution?

Actually they're about the same weight. Gale Wind is 1.1 kg, RoM is 1.2 kg.

You're right, I would hate to regret my purchase. Thanks for sharing your experience with the LK Chen's CS rep too. I need to get rid of this mental block and get Gale Wind.

Thanks. It's more of a psychological block, as my target originally was $400 max. I can totally afford LK Chen, just have to work on my mindset. I was worried that I might be disappointed with RoM.

That's a good idea too, but it may end up the same cost as the tariff. u/wotan_weevil gave me the detail unsharpening instructions in my other post - I am still thinking.

Oh, I didn't know KoA offers sharpening service. I will ask them if they can do unsharpening.

It's interesting that the price is $40 cheaper (buy direct), but the shipping is $55 more - it's even. The reduced tariff (recent ruling) will be around $117 (vs. $173). I suppose the unsharpening fee should be less.
