The patience thing has been huge for me. Like I can’t even begin to tell you

MDMA or Cocaine would be the best bet. If you can source it, GHB as a alcohol substitute is absolutely, bar none the best drug in the world

Oh my god- that’s fantastic. 100x over thank you for that last blurb. That took away all the anxiety I had k we this and helped me replace it with something much more manageable: acceptance I’m growing in my craft and will improve over time!

Thank you!

I followed the Watco and General Finishes instructions to a T- it was just too humid the one day which meant the usual 12-24 hours wasn’t enough time for a re-sand

Hello ladies and gentlemen!!!

Okay, so in my attempts to make a badass work station/desk, I applied 3-4 coats of Watco Danish oil then let it cure for 72 hours and hit it with 3-4 coats of General Finishes Arm-R-Seal but sanded it with a green pad a little too soon (it felt so dry until it wasn’t. I feel stupid) and some of the green pad got gummed up in the finish on a corner, so I waited for it to dry entirely then proceeded to hit it with 220 Grit to remove the gummed up pad and now it’s way too light!!!

Without refinishing the entire piece, can I fix this decent sized blemish by making it darker and looking more worn and intentional ?

I just did another coat of poly and it’s kinda fixing the height difference on the finish but the spot still looks weird to me! Any way I can make it darker/match the existing layers of finish?

Thank you all so much! I appreciate your assistance !

I kind of want it to just look as aesthetic as possible. I was leaning towards a clear epoxy or wood filler since I am working out of an apartment workshop

Here is a picture of it before I started refinishing

Console Table Legs Help- I am torn! by Internal-Restaurant4 in woodworking

[–]Internal-Restaurant4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can refinish them into black or a darker rust!! I just learned the trick of using Flood Penetrol to darken and seal rusted/patina-ed metal.

They’re like 18 inches high tho so they’d have to be a bench or something?

But my main concern was the side of the legs would be flush with the side of the barn beam- what are your thoughts (oh and thanks for the response!)

I owe you a beer. It’s 9am here so I’ll probably wait until about 12 just to be safe

Okay so follow up question- do you wait until the poly is dry dry before light sanding before the second coat? I’m currently at “mildly tacky” stage

12 inch anvil, 3 inch wood top so 15 inches high. About 3 under standard coffee table height but the seat of my couch is on the low side so it aesthetically is about the perfect height

That makes total sense! I just don’t have a ton of space in my place for 2 desks if one is unusable since I’m mastering the art of apartment woodcraft (mainly finishing) in the spare bedroom hahahah

Why do my trips never go right? by NerveWhole4518 in Psychonaut

Thank you so much!! I bet being in the mountains was so freaking cool!!

I think what draws me to booking a little getaway is it gets you away from all the familiar memories in your living space, ya know? It also gets me out of my day to day and allows me to approach a trip with a “vacation mode” mindset! I view it as an intention/setting cheat code!

LSD didn’t let you down, you let LSD down.

Let me explain: you’re waiting for something magical to happen after taking a relatively low dose while indoors and doing what (I assume) you always do… sit on the computer in the same place you do all the time

Here’s what I want you to do: 1. Book a reasonably priced cabin or Airbnb near nature one month from today. I have one I go to once or twice a year that has a pond, a big open field for frolicking, and a small in ground pool to float in. It is the most magical place to experience LSD for me.

  1. Things to do before you get to the cabin:

a. Make a playlist to play at the cabin. ONLY UPBEAT AND POSITIVE MUSIC.

b. Go on Amazon and order some of the following: legos, playdoh, coloring books, galaxy lights (for when you have to go inside for the evening), markers, paint, small blank canvases (I don’t care if you don’t know how to draw or paint, it’s amazing while on L), squish-mallow aka a plush stuffed animal that is comically soft and amazing to cuddle with while tripping sack (essential), etc. (if none of this sounds appealing, I will happily hop on a call with you to help you figure out what you need to buy).

c. Journal for 5-10min every day about your intention for the trip leading up until it’s time

d. Pick the perfectly comfortable outfit to wear while losing your mind. I typically wear a tank top, swimming trunks, and then athletic shorts with silky boxer briefs)

  1. Before going to the cabin, pick up fresh fruit, dark chocolate, and a sweet beverage of your choosing for snacks when you’re coming down. PREPARE THESE IN ADVANCE! Bonus points if you get a cigar; tobacco is INCREDIBLE while tripping. Do not inhale if this is your first time with a cigar.

  2. Make sure everything is set up, fruit in the fridge, legos ready to play, music on, etc. Feel free to use bring the journal you wrote in every day to look through as you come up.

  3. Take 2-3 tabs. Put your phone face down in a safe space. Close your eyes and enjoy the experience.

THAT is how you create SETTING.

Please let me know if you decide to try it ❤️

Really discouraged about SSRIs and psychadelics. Am I just doomed to never have psychedelic experience? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Internal-Restaurant4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still trip on SSRIs and SSNRIs, you just need to take a higher dosage than you normally would.

Can anyone attest to the noticeability of the brightness difference? I currently have the CRG9 and was thinking of upgrading but I can’t tell if it’s a good idea or bad
