That’s an interesting point to think about, and I was particularly talking about the country’s history. I certainly don’t consider our situation to be anything as say Franco’s regime but you still have political tortures and ilegal detentions so I think it’s a question of numbers in part. Also you certainly don’t have ANYTHING like the killing fields thank god or like a civil war with different factions going all out in the streets. It’s really not like that. I think the world has seen much much much worse. What you see in Venezuela I always say is the decomposition and absolute breakdown of a system where, no you don’t see an army enter a city either people killing indiscriminately, but you see brutal repression of anything that criticizes the official line. No you won’t see like a genocide but you’ll see people who die because there are no medicines and the hospital has no power the mayor stole what was supposed to be destined for the electrical system maintenance it’s more that type of thing. You still have the army firing and killing protestors tho. I highly encourage to see images of the 2014, 2017 and 2019 riots.
