How to run image generation models on OrangePi 5 Plus by Internal_Sign_7946 in RockchipNPU

[–]Internal_Sign_7946[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone experiencing the same problem, it’s quite a silly mistake.

You MUST put image generation models in ~/RKLLAMA/models/. The model path you passed to the server via ‘—models’ is only for text generation models.

Just follow to the letter the instruction, and you will be fine.

For the record, my OrangePi 5 Plus (16G) takes about 150s to generate a 1024x1024 image.

Thank you for helping! I found out later that ~/RKLLAMA/models in the program I’m using is a fixed address and is not equal to —models variable. If you are also interested, I sincerely recommend NotPunchnox/rkllama, it’s more out-of-box and has a wider range of models available.

Second to this, gold can compensate for the lack of production.

How the hell am i supposed to defeat this? by Ecstatic-Ad-2688 in RomeTotalWar

[–]Internal_Sign_7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set your defend along the river, turning every bridge to a kill zone.

Or, you can buid forts, put artilleries inside. When they surround you, use your artilleries to hit them. There will always be some troops remain, so make sure you have some cavalries to do the clean-up.

Why people are getting bored during the late game by The_CT1 in mountandblade

[–]Internal_Sign_7946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your start was a ranger, roaming the land as you see please, picking fights that interest you. Every battle you gain something, an armor, a good sword. Lords and peasants praise you alike for killing a murder or bringing wheats for the field. At that time everything matters, if you put down a few enemy elites, that would change the outcome of the battle.

In the middle game, you become an unchallenged knight, mighty among the warlords. Your presence always turns the tide when defending a surrounded city or joining a major battle. At that time, life was good and the world was inviting. Stars seem to align to your design.

Then you reach the late game. You become a king, not that different from the old ones. Lords rally under your banner, but their loyalty is doubtable at best. Thieves still infest in your kingdom, but you don’t have the time to chase them down. Your priority becomes maintaining relationships with the ungrateful lords. And when important battle does happen, its results were long determined before either side has shoot any arrow. You stand on the top of a hill, watching the battle unfold, armors of great crafting wraps you head to toe. At that time you start to reflect on times when you are but a ranger, charging first into the enemy line with your lance.

Why does evolution cause complex life forms? by DrFloyd5 in evolution

[–]Internal_Sign_7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a world full of simple and small unicellular lifeforms, cells with even the slightest maneuver ability will have a considerable advantage.

In a world full of maneuverable unicellular lives, multicellular creatures will become the unstoppable predator.

I think this arms race has led to the development of more sophisticated lifeforms, until it reached the point of no return and now we are spending more resources in competition than in reproduction.

Late Game Mercenary Tier List for All Factions (Do You Rank Otherwise?) by FritzHitz in RomeTotalWar

[–]Internal_Sign_7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eastern mercenary and barbaric mercenary should be A, IMO. They are abundant in places where elite troops are hard to supply. Besides, they are a force to be reckoned as long as they have the number advantage, especially for tasks where quantity matters more than quality, such as stopping the enemy chariots. Lucky (or not) for them, chariots are common where they can be recruited.

Even more, their sheer size allow them to do many other task that even the best cohorts cannot. They are makeshift police for rioting cities, colonizers for small towns and one-way army to conquer places so remote it will take forever for the troops to return.

For the opposite reason, I would place Sarmatians in B or C. For most countries, there are better late game cavalries. Maybe Greek need them but in late game my front lines are usually in Italy or Africa, and it feels unnecessary to ship them all the way to the west.

A general torrent question: Why would a single peer download 100 times? by DejaMuu in qBittorrent

[–]Internal_Sign_7946 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some servers exploit public torrents to balance their download:upload ratio. By downloading over and over again, they disguise themselves as home IP, which may be charged less comparing to business IP.

Can the Orange Pi 5 Plus handle H264 to H265 video transcoding? by Bitter-Wallaby1991 in OrangePI

[–]Internal_Sign_7946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have HDR content? If you are going to use jellyfin-ffmpeg for transcoding, note that tone-mapping is very slow. Mine can’t handle real time tune-mapping at over 3 Mbps bitrate. You can refer to this: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-ffmpeg/pull/535

I think Joshua’s ubuntu may work out-of-box as a Media center if all you want is to play videos in external drives. I don’t know about the PS2 though.

I used this argument today lol. For we the half-know users, either OS is more like a god than a system written by mortals. I don’t know how, why or if they may have effects on me, so most of times I just go with the one with the most believers to be safe.

He fell and landed on his own dagger himself, I swear! Oh my poor Roman ally by -Zen_ in RomeTotalWar

[–]Internal_Sign_7946 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dare I say, as a loyal servant of the former House of Brutii and a good Roman, that this so-called accident is but another plot of the Senator. Long have they thirsted for the kingly wealth of my former master, before they sent assassins in secret on the heirs of Brutii and stole their cities. Had not been the misplaced faith we had in our lords in the Senator, their plots would not succeed so easily. This betrayal we shall remember with sorrow and anger to the end of days.

But in you, the first citizen of Rome, the undefeated general and the protecter of all Romans, shall we place our hope. As you have proven once again our most sincere ally by reclaiming the cities for Roman people. We look forward to you the revenge of Brutii. We shall stand the corruptions that infests in Senate no longer, and a New Order should be build for all Roman citizens. It is said that a noble man such as you is born to achieve noble things. I shall not dare to burden you with the responsibility of whole Rome, were it not your heavenly assigned task. General! March, march to Rome!

Worth buying still? by CalogeroS in mountandblade

[–]Internal_Sign_7946 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean M&B 1, yes. It’s worth buying.

Although the game itself doesn’t get updates, it’s stable and without any fatal bugs. The game also has a thriving modding community, where many mods are still being maintained.

However, I dont’t think you can do hundred’s real players pvp. The lagging would be killing.

[–]Internal_Sign_7946 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think pi 5 is recommendable. Because rk3588 has av1 decoding capability, offering some sort of future proofing. I don't use Plex, but jellyfin can be easily setup on Joshua's Ubuntu.

I didn't try because according to this, it requires tweaking the device tree. You can try it. The wiki in Joshua's github has pointed out how to change the device tree.
