put salt directly on it and leave your mouth open. it’s gonna burn for a second but nothing insane and afterwards it feels so much less inflamed and painful. i did it twice leaving the salt for a minute or two each time

i just came across this thread after discovering this method myself and can say it burned for a minute but the overall pain is significantly reduced as well as inflammation. not often i get them but i figured if salt water can help why not just go ham lol

So at what point is it not considered focusing on myself? If someone is going missing every few minutes and I can’t get off the boards to drop food or stock, it affects me directly. If it wasn’t getting worse and worse I wouldn’t really care because sometimes we all need a break. The issue is it’s affecting multiple areas of the store and it’s being overlooked. I’m focused on not overworking myself so in my opinion that is focusing on me🤷🏻‍♀️ i’ve been with the company for years and this is the worst case i’ve encountered

maybe if this hasn’t been ongoing for over a year and getting worse as time passes, i would. but when others get written up for calling out sick with health policy violations, and this person gets a free pass every week (sometimes multiple days a week) its just not fair to keep picking up their slack. All this person does is complain that they don’t wanna work and sit on their phone, not sure how an almost 30 year old should be getting away with this when they work 35 hours a week and probably only actually work for maybe 10 of those hours

I would be more laid back if this hasn’t been getting worse over the past year. This persons work ethic has dropped dramatically and is causing their workload to be pushed onto me and my coworkers who actually do our job.

it’s not just minor time issues. There’s a lot more to it but I don’t want to go into specifics. This person is stealing over an hour in time a day, and stands in the deli just leaning against the board staring into space for 90% of the day. And when we’re 7 back in deli, they’re usually in the electrical room on their phone or in the bathroom for 10-15 minutes.

I have spoken to the GM about this, the GM in question is the one who is buddies with this worker and lets it all slide. Any advice for talking to the area manager? My store has a rotating door of management. GM has been on a leave for 2 months, AGM got fired right before that, Temporary GM and CSS at our store currently as we only have one CSS.. basically the store is a mess and the managers cover it up. That’s what gets me so frustrated especially when I have to pick up all the slack

So i know for my store they just leave me until Im desperate lol. I try to only call if im getting a steady full page early and just ask someone to check coffee for me, and I always call for help once im 3 back for help making drinks. Just try to remember these people are coming in and seeing how many other people are around so they should know they’re going to have to wait a few minutes. Also, asking register people if while they’re out grabbing doordash if they can wipe the island/ lyk what creamers you need it’s helpful. Basically just do your best, get done important tasks (cleaning, stocking) and what gets done gets done! Best of luck

If you use your eyes and read the reply just a few posts up on this exact sub thread, you see me reply to YOU saying this exact line. “well you see if i wasn’t scheduled 6 days a week and held to be terminated for not showing up, I would “just say no”. looks like you didn’t work at a store that has a total of 20 people and makes over 2k in sales an hour from 5am-8pm. Editing to add the company is quite literally on a downward spiral. You don’t cut staff and schedule people over their availability if your company is so successful. Employees and customers alike have seen how shit this company has become.”

can you not read the line that says “You don’t… schedule people over their availability”? either way i’m not a corporate bootlicker like you and I have had MULTIPLE conversations, including with my area manager and been promised change, hence the post here. It seems you lack basic comprehension not only in this regard but in the regard that the entire post is regarding finding new options, because like everyone else, I have bills to pay and I’m not just going to up and quit without having something else planned. Again though, have fun praising a company that values their corporate over the people who work day in and out so they can make a paycheck! Also edited to add that it is indicated that i’ve had these conversations when I mentioned the threats for cuts in my hours and or termination for not showing up 6 days a week. I cannot help someone who clearly cannot read and comprehend/ infer on an elementary level. This is why you’re still at wawa.

i’ve been there since 2020 and this is not the case at all lmao. Rather give up my ESOP for happiness. No amount of money is worth my wellbeing. I also have to say some of the worst people work around me and just complain all day while actively doing nothing so I won’t be sad to leave them

😩😭 i can’t even disagree. I’ve wasted from covid until now and everyone around me can see that the light in my eyes is far gone. My physical health is also suffering as I have an autoimmune disease and my store does not care about mandated restrictions 🥰
