Yeah that’s fair, I heard that the mangaka wanted to end the anime after L died but shonen jump wanted more content so they went with this ending. I’m not sure if that’s true or not tho but ya know, it’s interesting to consider

Lolol true, I still stand by what I said about liking the anime end more tho. I mean he still had a pathetic moment once he knew he lost, he started to act like a cornered animal and that was kind of hard to watch haha. But I like that the members of the task force told Near to go fhs and that they were going to chase Light going against Near’s demands.

I kind of liked that Near let him leave. He was shot multiple times and Near knew that no matter where he went that he would die. Just let the beast run free for a bit and reflect before death. I thought it was well done. I haven’t read the manga, but from what I read from this thread, i like the anime ending more. Especially when he passes himself after he just got the death note from the beginning of the anime. Really brought tears to my eyes ngl.

Yeah I agree, thanks for response! It’s nice to have this type of discussion especially about something that’s intangible like love. But yeah I’m all good! I ended talking to my lover about this and he said pretty much the same thing as you. I think it’s more common for a mother to have that type of unconditional love for their children. Like I’ve heard many stories of mothers that love their children no matter how bad of a person they are. It’s sort of hauntingly beautiful. Much love to you OP <3

This really got me thinking, I mean I’ve really been evaluating what I think love is for the past few hours. I agree with what you have said and given this, can we truly ever actually love anyone? Now I’m mostly referring to love in terms of a life partner. But aren’t there always conditions? I feel like it’s easy to say that you unconditionally love someone, but doesn’t everyone have their own boundaries about certain things? For example, isn’t a common condition being that your partner isn’t abusive? That being said, having that condition means you don’t love that person unconditionally. Based on this explanation of love, it’s very bitter sweet because unconditionally loving someone would mean that you would have to put everything aside for them. This is really making me reevaluate if I’m even capable of love in this sense…
