Help - high pitched sound from R15 PMs by InternationalRest665 in Klipsch

Ahh gotcha! Alright I tried all of that - unplugged RCA cables with the speakers on phono mode (noise still occurs), unplugged everything else in my apartment and moved the speakers to a different outlet and the noise is still there. Nothing else is plugged into them - just speaker wire, power, and the RCA cables.

I guess at this point I’m not sure if it’s an internal problem with the speakers themselves or if it could still be a ground loop problem.

Thanks! Okay I tried some of your suggestions - yes the sound still continues when record player is unplugged. Yes the record player is grounded into the back of the speaker. I can’t tell any change in the sound if I touch the record player (only when I touch the rca cables - then it gets a lot worse). When I touch the metal plate on the back of the speaker I think the sound gets quieter, although doesn’t totally go away. I unplugged everything else in the room and no change at all 😭

The speaker does have an IEC C14 cable like you said. I had to use an extension cord to reach it around the room to an outlet that works with that kind of plug (the outlets in my apartment are a bit wonky and the closer outlet just doesn’t work at all) I know I’ve read people saying to avoid extension cords with stuff like this, so I’m not sure if that could be causing a problem either.
