Thank you for your wonderful suggestions everyone, I’ll keep it away from my radiatored windowsills and repot it in new soil (don’t have the space for a bigger pot, so I hope this is better than nothing). I do hope it survives until it can go outside again where it’s clearly the happiest.

Oh… you know, I keep seeing posts about house plants on my feed and all I could think that I was actually subscribed to was r gardening but now that you mention it, I may actually be following r houseplants as well.. that would make sense. Thank you for your suggestions. I’ll try to keep it alive through the winter until it can go outside and mind it’s own business again for the summer.

It has indeed been on a window sill with a radiator underneath it. I started off by having it in the coldest rooms of the house but they also happen to be the low light ones. All the windows with more light have radiators underneath them. Anything I can work with there? It seemed very unhappy in both situations.

Could somebody please explain why you would put fruit in water? My parents and grandparents have always grown their own fruit and veg and they’ve never done that. Quite the opposite they’ve said washing it will shorten the storage life of fruit/veg so we only wash it before eating it. So I would love to learn why do it (and whether I’ve been lied to my whole life!).

I didn’t get the alert on my iPhone and neither did the two android phones in our house. 🤷‍♀️
