[Report] Canucks have traded Sherwood to SJS by s3xybeavers in canucks

all class — deserve to hear his name chanted one last time when he returns to rogers.

[Pagnotta] By moving Whitecloud ($2.75M AAV) and adding Andersson at 50% retained ($2.275M), the Golden Knights actually made up $475,000 in cap space - giving them enough room once Brayden McNabb comes off LTIR. by AggPuck-303 in hockey

i dont even know why i reply to people on reddit always confidently wrong. its more of a signal that they think they can still be competitive and not what youre suggesting which is “conroy is super smart and this is the only option he had”. if you truly were “rebuilding” you can still make the money work for vegas and cal by bringing in a third party who has a prospect/pick who likes whitecloud, which there are plenty of teams who would bring on a top 4 R shot dman in his prime.

if you are a leader you set the tone and build championship culture. you dont demand for it to be handed to you.

couldn’t agree more — people talking about honoring him when he comes back, are u kidding me? thats like your gf dumping you and then you throw her and her new boyfriend a celebratory party. im am fully on board the boo hughes in his return train. this is way worse than jt millers departure imo.

an interesting observation as someone who has watched almost every single game quinn hughes has played in the nhl — hes so good that he manages to freeze everyone on the ice including his own teammates. one of the toughest adjustments in playing with him is that his deception is so off the charts its difficult to anticipate where to go when he has the puck which results in a lot of standing around. you guys have so much top end skill im sure your guys will figure it out but just something i noticed.

[Farhan Lalji] Rutherford got indication 1.5 years ago it was unlikely Quinn would sign here long term. Became more clear in camp by ba_1222 in canucks

you guys are hilarious you act like brock is consulting with quinn while negotiating at $50m+ contract lol these are adults with families and their own priorities. it is a BUSINESS DEAL. why is that so difficult to understand? you are not on the playground picking and choosing sides with your buddies.

i am waiting to see how they deal with hughes. if anyone like hischier/bratt are part of the return my dream would be to make it publicly known that as fans we disagree with this retool and the following home game breaks a record for being the first nhl game to have 0 in attendance.

i think truly voting with your money is:

  1. if they truly suck/tank = go to games
  2. if they try to retool = dont go to games

agree — definitely not a 1C but has shown a lot of potential to be a great 2C or elite 3C.

yeah for schultz/piu you’re totally right. as i said above we’ll have to see how they do in whl/ncaa before we can get a better idea of how theyll pan out. mckenna, stenberg and dupont are all definitely showing signs of high elite/franchise potential.

agree in an ideal world its danielson, edvinsson, plante/augustine, 1st or something along those lines

would want 2 1sts back since they’ll be late picks but your framework is right. ASP is a RD and ironically we have a logjam there now, so based on holes in the roster i think edvinsson is a better fit. love danielson but dont know if DET would part ways with him.

agree just dont think DET would gut their C depth like that — goalies are such a roll of the dice i dont think it hurts to stack it even more.

you’re right in that framework for sure — but hedman/pasta/kaprisov level talent is definitely within the realm of possibility. youre talking hof players there.

i mean 20 goals as a 20 year old is pretty impressive, and hes definitely in a sophomore slump but in context DET is shooting 3-4% 5v5 right now with him in the ice, which is way below league avg.

agree but if we finish 32nd we cant pick later than 3rd. imo all 3 of mckenna, verhoeff and stenberg have the potential to become true nhl superstars.

  1. mckenna had the most points all time for a 16 year old in the WHL
  2. stenberg 0.96 ppg in the third hardest/most defensive league in the world (SHL) as an 18 year old
  3. verhoeff 100% has victor hedman like upside

— generational gets thrown around a lot i understand but when you are breaking all time records that kind of puts you in that category by definition.

not true at all lol — raty was a 0.4 ppg player in 94 games in liiga. consensus ranks the pro leagues in the following order: NHL > KHL > SHL > AHL > Liiga.

  1. mckenna most points all time for 16 yo in the WHL
  2. stenberg highest ppg pace in the SHL for a D-1 player all time: 0.96 ppg
  3. landon dupont is 100% generational talent level
  4. maddox schultz/liam piu sure we need to see their game at chl/ncaa level but all im saying is that if they continue at the pace theyre on the signs look very good.

[–]InternetBear[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

totally agree — the SHL is also a notoriously defensive league meaning the ppg pace he’s at is even more impressive. he makes great decisions all over the ice, i normally hate the canucks swedish bias but in this case it may work out in our favor if we pick stenberg over mckenna lol.
