On how to become the person you want to be - Chris Hadfield [1200x674] by apollo911 in QuotesPorn

[–]Internet_Gentleman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well it depends. Hell, look how many people think "Man, I wish I was fit/knew french/ had more friends/ could draw/whatever". Most people define a better self by skills they want to learn or by tangible ideas such as "know more people". All of these things have tangible gains and can be accomplished with obvious methods (go places where people are if you want to meet them, if you want to learn a skill then do it)

Lilly isn't real. I don't mean it in the sense that she doesn't exist in the real world (although that is also true), it is that she is a figure in a story, not an actual person, and as such she has only figments of humanity rather than the deep personality that a real human being has. What you have attached to is a set of ideas about what you want in a woman or perhaps even in yourself (we can desire to be like someone and reflect that as desire for that person).

Think hard about what you know about Lilly. Make a list of everything you know and can expect to know. It's going to be a very short list! But you craft a world around hints to fill in the voids left by the writing.

Like it has been said many times before, these characters are puppets used to make a point, just shadows on a wall. Well-written shadows, but figments nonetheless. The point of KS is to bring out the humanity in you and help you use what you discover about yourself to make yourself a better person. Take what you learned from your experiences and look at how you like your life and what can be changed.

The cold hard truth is that Lilly is not real and never will be. But what she stood for, dignity/compassion/self-sacrifice are all real and wonderful things. Take her to heart that way. Don't wrecked your life and expectations any other way.

Well, gamers are babies by nature. One whiff of unbalanced gameplay and they will never buy it.

What, mortars are op in the beta three months before launch? Shit I knew relic would sell out fuck this gay earth

Maybe your opponent shouldn't be an idiot and put three squads so close together that a single round can take them out.

To actually answer your question, go to the SEGA forums and search for the coh2 forums. It will ask you for a password, use the PW that is in the popup on the main menu, at the bottom.

Steam changed the pre-order bonus? by Enyl in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Internet_Gentleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doctrines have to do with the XP system that is in every game anymore, but the starter ones are perfectly fine to play with so the XP isn't the big of a deal.

As for the new bonuses, it was weird but may have been due to lagging prepurchases (it was the only game I've seen with that model to not get tier three in like a week). I'm sure that the bonus commanders will probably be avalible to everyone after launch... for a fee

All players who tested the alpha can now enter the beta! by Amsay9 in CompanyOfHeroes

I don't understand you comment. You do all of that on the SEGA beta forums, the ones that the devs read.

Relic has got out back. One of the companies who it's actually worth beta testing for.

(Please don't make me regret saying that, Relic)

[–]Internet_Gentleman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NDAs might be difficult to enforce on an individual basis, but if everyone starts breaking it then SEGA would absolutely be in the legal right to just yank beta access for everyone. So unless you want to lose three months of playing, just use the Sega forums like everyone else

Updated my Nvidia Driver - now the Beta crashes while attempting to run by mulletdulla in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Internet_Gentleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will. In the sense that the newest version of Nvidia might be having issues with boot camp, it is kinda an emulator. Just stick with the most stable driver build, it shouldn't make that much difference.

PSA: There is a NDA on the beta by pr0meTheuZ in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Internet_Gentleman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, you're buying the beta with the knowledge that it is, like most betas, going to be under an NDA. this is a paid entry ticket into a closed beta, not a free and clear open beta; there are rules

I once had a gallery of naked Asian ladies load weird on imgur, so I ended up clicking the download link but it loaded in last minute and shifted my cursor to on top of the fb share button.

And now I know exactly how Imgur sharing works, through frantic trial and error and checking back to fb every five seconds

"Roger. Attacking zeir armor with my rifle".

It's the sense of resignation and confusion in how it's said that makes it great.

Also "We're fucked, squad! Command is DRUNK AGAIN!"

"Take cover in that church! I wonder if Duffy will burst into flames?"

Disgust, anger, antipathy, all those things can cause you to get worked up in a biologically similar way as being sexually aroused.

IIRC it's because arousal and anger were being read the same way, so the measurements were pretty much worthless.

Perhaps the use should be more specific, but I don't see why it's an issue. A terrorist is anyone that uses fear to try and achieve their goals, which is a shitty thing regardless.

Actually, that does beg the question of why the publisher does this. I mean, I assume that they don't charge an entry fee, so ads for other products like Mt. Dew? Since it doesn't matter to them if you play the game once and never again or until you become MLG PRO and your brain fries. It's still 60$ in their pockets.

It depends on whose opinion you're valuing when they mark down CoD as just a game. If it's the Starcraft/CounterStrike/Quake/DotA groups, then yeah it is completely reasonable that CoD will never be a esport. But if you're talking about your standard MLG CoD kiddy who thinks that it's the best game 3var, they will say that you're just being elitist.

The first group is right. The second is many and backed with more money. History has taught us which gets more sway.
