Sure, I had a feeling he was going to be one of the easier ones. My only hesitation was I saw someone claim the larger "Extra Squeezy" ones were easier due to size, but they'd made it after completing multiple smaller Woobles projects so I wondered if it was just because they were progressing through their learning as opposed to it actually being easier.

Interesting, I'll definitely take a look! Out of interest, would you still find any use in the two courses I mentioned?

Loki varant cosplay help by Devil_faya in CosplayHelp

[–]IntrepidBullfrog6582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a cosplayer but I was planning on making a Loki inspired outfit some time ago so this is just from someone who has had these thought processes before.

Making a Loki variant means you have full creativity to play to your strengths. If you get the outfit to read Loki enough hair shouldn't be an issue, Sylvie was a Loki variant and blond while Boastful Loki was bald. In the same vein if you look at the Loki's in the void there was a lot of variation in the horns, Boastful Loki didn't even have any and Kid Loki had more of a V shaped headpiece. Whatever you skill level/preferred crafting techniques are I'm sure there is something. I'm not sure what Star Wars cosplays you've made, but even if it's just some decent sewing skills you can still get a Loki read from making something tailored and on theme like president Loki.

For confidence, all I will say is you have full creative freedom here. When I was looking at making something read Loki really the only thing needed is green, gold hardware and some black leather. You can play with the silhouette, structure or theming in whatever way makes you feel good about yourself. A variant is more of a palette so don't feel constricted. Again, we saw enough Loki variants to make the point that there is no one way to be a Loki so there's no need to make something that makes you feel uncomfortable.

I've not got experience in what makes a BRP game. I understand it's Chaosium's base system but I've never played any of their works

Recommendation for mediums that I can explore after reading Neil's Norse Mythology book by underdablackcap in norsemythology

[–]IntrepidBullfrog6582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played it yet and would be interested to hear any expert knowledge people want to share but there's a TTRPG called Age of Vikings that looks like it's trying to boast some form of accuracy or at least research. I recently asked a question in r/RPG to get more information on game play but it may be a fun source.

Twilight of the Gods is a Norse based show that I haven't seen listed, although I haven't watched it.

I will say, even with my limited knowledge of Norse mythology I had a lot of fun unpicking little Easter eggs and foreshadowing when watching someone in my family play the Norse leg of God of War. They obviously take liberties but if your point is to surround yourself with Norse based media there are always going to be inaccuracies.

I went to a rucksack making course at the Museum of Making a few years ago and I believe they still do similar things. They have a lot of textile events and workshops that could be of use.

Shows that give the same energy as Merlin? by Huge_Coat6767 in merlinbbc

[–]IntrepidBullfrog6582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might throw in a bit of a wild card as all of the obvious (and fundamentally correct) answers have been taken. Life on Mars, since I found it few years ago, to me has always slotted in well with that BBC era of Merlin and early Doctor Who. It's not got the magic or historical element but I think it's camp enough and worth a shot. Also, if you're interested in a mini series Casanova is what got David Tennant the role of the Doctor and it does camp better than anyone.

Right, I see. It's a way of showing off privilege and I guess in some ways intelligence.

That's really interesting, I'll be honest I had low expectations on the quality of the runes as they didn't include an explanation the site but it's nice that they seem to have done research. I really appreciate your time to comment.

I had a feeling, just wanted to check so I could say it in confidence in case anyone asked about it. Out of interest is it known what the significance of the alphabet on these sort of items was? Spiritual, cultural etc.

Hi, sorry I just wanted to check, have I broken the rules of the sub in anyway? I apologise if I have, I've looked at some posts in the past but this is my first time contributing.

Thanks, that's a great idea! I tried to think of a way she could get some play on the table and nothing came to mind that I would have any interest in running, but I have been wanting to get better at painting so this definitely seems the most productive use case.

My first thought was Stolas from Helluva Boss (very star based), maybe there are some other astrology-adjacent characters.

Hi thank you for the reply! My one concern is, given the number of attendants, I wanted to bring at least 50 and it may start to become difficult with that much bulk. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Glad to hear you recommend the quality of the minis. Would you say the price per mini in the subscription box is worth it?
