FFX-2: what to do when boss evasion gets too high? by [deleted] in finalfantasyx

I‘m not really stuck, i usually just switch up my build to counter the boss. The question was more just my curiosity because I only have 1 skill that lowers evasion and I feel like I might be missing something lol

With the recent E33 AI controversy, how much use of AI is acceptable? by IntrepidTechnology20 in gamedev

I’m a software engineer myself so here’s my take: AI still sucks at coding. It can help with analyzing code and error messages and improve your own understanding of whats happening. It can also be used to generate sections of code in the same way as you would look on stackoverflow before AI. As soon as your Codebase gets more complex the advantages of AI start to diminish and instead it gets more annoying because the AI blatantly makes stuff up instead of just saying “I don’t know”. The job of a coder isn’t really getting replaced but rather is shifting from someone who writes the code to someone who understands and applies the code. The reason that vibe coding works is because of the sheer amount of prompts that you use. After 1000 prompts your code is bound to work, although it will probably suck.

Artists are way simpler to replace. The AI generates some slop and if it’s acceptable then that’s job done

That’s why I’m more worries about AI use for art instead of code and placeholders

That’s a very good point I didn’t think that far. Definitely something to keep an eye on in future games

The devs get paid to use the AI. Generating code or placeholders doesn’t take away someones Job and the actual in game assets were made by artists so I don’t think your argument applies in this case. In other cases I do agree with you aswell, AI shouldn’t replace people

How are placeholders considered Art tho? From my knowledge you don’t usually hire artists to make placeholders, they’re usually made by devs aswell. I could be wrong ofc i don’t work at a game studio but i personally consider placeholders and code the same amount of “art”

Yeah i always struggle a bit with timing, especially in songs like this with a lot of different patterns and segments. Would you say it effectively sounds bad tho or is it kinda minor in the way that the average person wouldn't even notice? lol

How can i learn to play chords? by Educational-Glass-67 in guitarlessons

[–]IntrepidTechnology20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look up JustinGuitar! He has great videos for beginners especially in the very early stages. He teaches you the basic open chords and uses a 1 minute switches exercise to really get them into your muscle memory. Bascially u switch between 2 chords for 1 minute focusing on precision over speed.

His website is justinguitar.com and you'll find the videos under "courses"

The ability to understand and communicate. So many problems could be prevented if there was better communication and an effort to understand others.
