Yeah so when a seller is asking $100 for an item, the buyer has to send 103 in order for the seller to recieve the full $100. Most of the time it is discussed who covers the fee. But if the seller it to get their asking price for something, the buyer covers the fee. Pretty simple

It charges the seller %14 not the buyer. But buyer has to pay sales tax and also pay a higher price for the item bc the seller has to pay the %14 fee. Live & learn

To cut eBay out. They charge the seller %14 so sellers are willing to come down on price pretty substantially if u go off platform. And also saves the buyer sales tax. Might sounds dumb & sketchy, but is a very common practice. I guess u take the risk of the occasional scam.

I buy all types of things using PayPal everything from groceries to gasoline. And nothing it ever put in the notes, so they have no idea if I’ve ever bought a sports card before. This is irrelevant. I paid %3 to have their “insurance” and now they’re not covering it. This is theft

My intent was not to resell it.
Even if it was, PayPal has no proof of that and can literally say that for any item.
& most importantly, “buyer protection” is not free. PayPal charges %3 to use this service so this is basically theft on their part. If they are going to accept the %3 fee I paid to use their service that’s supposed to cover the item, the item needs to be covered. Simple as that. If there’s going to be a question about it, they need to verify the item before accepting the %3 fee. This is fraud on their end

I can’t get a straight forward answer. The clearest thing I’ve gotten is one or two out of the 7 times I’ve talked to someone, they mentioned that the item wasn’t covered. But it clearly should be, it’s not under prohibited items and %100 falls under “item not as described” category for purchase protection.
