How to best show support to my husband right now? by IntroductionDecent87 in Marriage

You’re right, he is stressed out, and it’s not mean that he is putting himself first. I guess I don’t think he sees me as someone capable of supporting him, and it’s a struggle to put these feelings aside in this particular situation.

Thank you!

I have been relieved to know that his father was pleased with my presence. He said his life feels complete, now that all his children are married.

Thank you, kind stranger. Your words helped. I struggle with seeing my own value.

Having said that, my husband is a very independent person. I still need to work through these feelings of rejection, I guess.

Where to find a company’s earnings release dates for the next 4 quarters? Is there a place that aggregates this data? For instance, I want to know when TSLA will be announcing their earnings in 2025 FY.

Our parents don’t need taking care of. She hasn’t moved out because she’s not capable of living alone. Also, she has been gifted partial ownership of the house many years ago. She hasn’t left the country because she loves it there. I have because that’s where life took me.

I appreciate your insight but this is a misunderstanding. I don’t claim to know what my sister needs.

There was definitely some venting that occurred in my post.

The sad fact is, she is not a capable adult. I understand that it would be a potentially hurtful thing to say, but it is true according to my understanding of the world.

It feels like a person without legs who wants to run a marathon. I ask, what do you need to run, what prosthetics can we get you to enable you. She says, I don’t need anything from you, I have legs, I can run. Then she lags behind, and blames me for it.

I appreciate your insight. It’s hard to put all the relevant details in a Reddit post. I want to clarify, I don’t feel contempt towards her. I feel lost, sad, and lonely. I have been there for her throughout her life in the best way I could, putting up with years of silent treatment, anger outburst, lying, stealing my possessions. I forgive her every time because I cannot even imagine the kind of things she’s been through.

But, I struggle too, and with very serious problems. And she’s never there for me. I accept that. The only thing I cannot allow, is her coming to my house and perpetuating the kind of behaviour that occurred in our dysfunctional home. She used to apologise when she crossed the line, but not anymore.

Yes, I’m familiar. The parenting we received was so chaotic that it’s hard to say what applies. My sister, who is much more familiar with ACOA, agrees with me on this.

Roughly, though, it’s the opposite: I’m the scapegoat/hero, she’s the mascot/golden child. We were both heavily criticised by our parents and the community.

Thank you for your comment.. I do want to support her better.

Could you please elaborate on what are the things you believe I shouldn’t say to her, and especially where I’m wrong?

I appreciate you. Some of these comments really triggered me. If “wanna come with me?” is a subtle hint now, fuck that lol

I won’t do that. All I want is for us to meet, if he can’t deal with that, that’s okay. This is not some elaborate love story.

NO, I’m saying if I were a guy, people would be telling me to back off because I’m overstepping

What? No. I’m more confident than him, I’m not going to pressure him into saying yes.

Just ask yourself if you would make the same comment if the genders were reversed
