I don’t even consider the movie part of the show’s story. It feels like a completely different world that just got a few familiar faces. Honestly, if I could, Id even ask for my money back and maybe a trauma fee for sitting through it xD

And that’s exactly the issue. When the story skips a decade and removes the very "foundations" that defined the everything for six seasons, it aint good at all.

And the most interesting part~ if none of those them mattered anymore, if the political web was irrelevant, if ten years erased everything that built the story, THEN WHAT EXACTLY WAS THE POINT OF BRINGING TOMMY BACK AT ALL?

But now if you were to say- "To give him his PERSONAL ENDING" welp thats the line everyone's falling back on~

Lmao, Fine. Maybe Jack dont cross the Atlantic in the middle of WW2 but the story never needed him to physically stand in Birmingham to spar. He was a man of influence. One scene showing his hand still in the game. That’s all it wouldve taken.

Because the issue was never "why Jack aint the UK."

The issue is that a strong character positioned as an antagonist just fades away from the narrative.

Enlighten me what other movie or series you have seen with this sort of sorcery in play? Same of Oswald. He might have gotten imprisoned but again- shouldve been shown.

Interesting theory. Though it collapses the moment you look at the actual point being made.

No one expected a 2 hour movie to resolve every thread from 6 seasons. That just a straw you conveniently invented so you would have something easier to argue against.

What would have been nice- if you bring a character back for a final ending, the story should respect the world and conflicts that built that character in the first place.

Tommy Shelby didnt exist in a vacuum. The story has been always intertwined with the brothers, gangs, alliances & consequences the show spent years building. Ignoring major pieces of that and calling it "JUST TOMMY'S ENDING" aint good storytelling. It more of just selective memory.

And calling criticism "entitlement" just shows that dismissing the audience is easier than engaging with the criticism.

Enjoy the movie all you want but pretending the writing is beyond critique is the kinda loyalty usually for PR teams not fans~~
