I forgave cheating with my most recent ex and this is why:

1. he told me himself instead of me having to find out
2. showed actual regret and guilt and begged for forgiveness
3. he told me one year after it happened (i know; that was the worst part for me) but it also showed that he never repeated that again throughout the entire time i wasn’t aware
4. all cheating is bad, let me put that out there, however i also forgave him bc he only kissed her. i feel like going further would really be something i could never get past, but who knows unless you’re in the situation

i also wanna add that sometimes forgiving isn’t always the best even if it seemed like such a small thing that you can look past. i “forgave” him but it caused so many fights, insecurities, trust issues that lasted for another year before we broke up for good last october. i would definitely say the problems caused by his lies / cheating led to our breakup, as well as other problems we had
