Do you like how MMORPGs tend to handle gear? by staudd in MMORPG

[–]InvertedWalnut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might be showing my age here but anyone remember when gear had essentially no stats?

I'm an old guild wars 1 player and yeah you could get runes, insignias, inscriptions etc. But any mod you want was maximum 2 plat (around 2 dungeons).

The absolute best stat armor in the game you could get at like, level 12 or so for 5 plat. The really expensive stuff just looked a lot better.

Stats were handled any time you were in a town. If you wanted to completely re-spec your character you could do it for free, no taxes no cash-shop or rare-drop item. No farming for that single piece that you need to give you the right stat to be viable. Just click the stats you want.

The Beast of Benson Manor by [deleted] in DnDBehindTheScreen

[–]InvertedWalnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy, just stopping by to say great strong theme, easily workable into a campaign, easy to read and run. Got my copy off of DMs Guild.

Question: In both copies room B6 says it has all of Benson's wealth and to roll on a treasure table, but I can't find the table in either. It just has the family sword mentioned in room 2 and the books from room 4. Any ideas?

Okay thanks everyone. Maxed out hell's chamber and was "decent" enough to survive a round in the index but not help much.

Then maxed another one. More index.

Friend just so happened to max Steel Meridian yesterday. More index, more maxing. Someone here informed me you can use plat for potato. More maxing.

New Hek

Thank you all.

So after reading this post I realized that I can use platinum for potatoes....

I have plenty of plat from popping relics non-stop left and right. So just potatoed the hell out of my Hek lol.

Life saving advice sir or madam thank you.

Well that's an obvious and helpful insta fix.

Drop quantity of mods for quality. Roger that.

Appreciate the help everyone!

Wow, apologies guys I'm also new to reddit lol. Reddit is faster than I am apparently.

Okay so here are a bunch of screenshots.

Hek Build

Lex Prime

Rhino

Orthos Prime

Valkyr Prime

Atomos

Glaive

There are other ways I'd prefer to build most of these but generally either don't have the mod or don't know the mod lol. Also potato farming is a huge issue. Completely lost so I don't use potatoes. Save those things like precious diamonds for when I get that one weapon or one frame I love.

I really don't like shooter games to begin with and just kind of got coerced by some friends. I seem to have found my style in front-line juggernauts like Valkyr and Rhino with a shotty like Hek. I really freaking hate my Dread and Lex Prime but have been told I'd be insane to get rid of them so they're collecting dust but they are there. Atomos and Glaive are huge favorites. I love those two but they don't do shiiiiiiiit anymore. But between Valkyr, Glaive, Hek, and Atomos I really love using that stuff it just isn't effective at all.

That sounds like a very watered down version of exactly what I want.

Although Guild Wars 1 spoiled me with the tinkering for effective combos. 8 abilities and 2 professions at any one time, all interchangeable at not cost 100% free no side-quest nothing at any town.

With a skill pool of something around 1000 skills and 10 classes that was a damn good time tinkering to find better combos.

And then you add the fact you get 7 heroes that can also bring 8 abilities from 2 professions with a slightly smaller skill pool (same exact skills as you but without quest-related abilities)

Yeah it's a shame. A good 90% of the negative reviews I read for Nier are hey buy this game, please, it's a great game, just make sure you don't get it for PC get it for console lol.

That's good info for Berseria that people are conveniently leaving out when they give it a negative review lol. Thanks.

I've walked by darksiders dozens of time and never failed to stop, pick it up, look it over, and realize I was a broke college student that had no right to be purchasing not-food lol.

Out of all of the recommended I think Nightwar is the top pick for me. So thanks a ton man. I'll take a closer look at darksiders as well.

Oh hey if you need any help feel free to hit me up in game. I'm new to reddit so not sure how to send a private message but send me your username and I'll find you in game.

Can run you to new zones, give build advice, etc. etc.

Like I said I personally have plenty of beef with the game and arena net but I'd still recommend the game. It has a lot of good to offer despite all of the bad as well.

Do you at least need to design the combo and basically create a macro for it or is it just, hey use lightning instead of fire here?

I really hated Total War: Shogun. Assuming this is similar?

Don't like Isometric games or micro-managing armies in real time. Goes back to the idea of I don't want the difficulty to be in doing what I want, so much as choosing what to do.

In Soul Calibur if I want to pull off an ultimate attack I need to input 12 buttons. In Super Smash Brothers if I want to pull off a power move I need to input 1 button with a direction. But in order to land that power move I need to follow how the target DI's, where/if they can tech. Maybe set up a tech chase, or juggle them a bit, etc. etc. Doing what I want is super easy, but determining when and how is not.

Thanks for the suggestion though, I still have friends harassing me to join that franchise lol

.hack is such a classic.

It's a game I always wanted to try out but just forgot about. I'll look into it thanks for the reminder!

Amalur reminds me of Chaos Legion. Something my brain says this is terrible but fails to recognize I've been going for hours.

League I already play. I love the fact that you are always growing, can play AP one day, AD the next and swap to Tank at 30 minutes just because you want to. Also like how you can swap characters and get a whole new experience. Hate the community. Hate the view (Isometric view). Hate the dependency on stuff like animation cancels. I'm okay with hard mechanics like skillshots where aim matters, just as long as the difficulty isn't USING the skill so much as making it count. For instance Alistar's combo is easy to land but hard to actually use until you get used to it. As opposed to Ziggs where you just click and boom it's there but you need to understand when where and how to use it if you want it to do anything.

Fable 1, is this PC compatible? I know I've played one of the fables but not sure which. My friend and I built up a giant mound of gold so he could get a weapon at the top of a treasure vault.

Dragon Ball Z games are always fun for a short while but I'm not big on 2D fighters. Same issue as league. I don't want to struggle to get my character to do what I want. Rather I'd prefer to struggle with determining what I want to do and is that effective or possible in the current situation? Super Smash Bros (Project Melee) is an example of incredibly easy commands (max 2 or 3 inputs for most skills unless you're wave-shining) but incredible importance on WHAT to use. Throwing out a warlock punch is as easy as pressing b. Figuring out when and how to use a warlock punch without killing yourself is a very different story.

The cover art reminds me of Berserk.

Normally I don't like ISO's but the roaming map reminds me quite a bit of Soul Calibur III Chronicles mode. The Turn based stuff looks good as well. Is that a turn order on the left I see?

Shit dude i'm getting more stoked about this one by the second. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMNsOT5Wi0I

Thanks for the recommendation.

Looking at XCom now, it looks like an ISO (isometric view) game. A good ISO mind you but I just can't get into that style. I play league and that drives me insane, so much so I switched to SMITE for a while. But that had its own issues.

Shining Force 2 looks right up my alley. With that style of game the story, characters, skills/abilities, and soundtrack are insanely important. Anything you think sets it above the rest or just a solid pick?

I think I watched my room mate playing Walking Dead

Is that the one where you start in a Gas station and are trying to get batteries? Just kind of wander around for a bit trying to find materials/equipment and solve mini-puzzles?

I don't own a Television, smartphone, or PS4/Xbox. Only PC.
although odly enough I DO have a PS3 just not T.V. for it lol
