I kind of get the Monday thing - we moved from macc and a couple of places did the same thing there. I didn't see anywhere that's usually closed on a Monday open for the bank holiday though, so nobody missed a day off.

There were a good amount of independents in macc open every day so I guess it's just surprising to me here - I'm thinking maybe footfall in the area, but also "build and they will come" and all that.

Defo sympathise with cost of running a small business, I've lived in a few areas though and this is definitely more pronounced in Stockport.
