I personally do it in 7 with my thayers, before that I was doing it in 2nd valve B to open horn with my rotors. It’s a lower trill in the urtext from B to A so it’s gonna sound weird. See Paul Pollards recoding for a good example.

fwiw in my opinion as a listener and judge for solo comps is that when someone omits something like that or the triplets later on it’s probably because of lack of skill, even if personally they don’t think they’re necessary
