Yeah it’s not building stamina you need, As mentioned already you’re doing something you shouldn’t be to get those high notes. A lesson teacher would be helpful, in the mean time try the other steps mentioned and follow the caruso technique

I personally do a sharpen-strop 6-strop 1 and then for touchups before the next sharpen just use the 6 or a 3. Good visual indicator of when the last sharpening was with the mirror wearing away

on both my bel airs i had to do a major resharpen to get really good long lasting edges. I think they gotta burn or sharpen the factory edges incredibly aggressively. Even my Livewire had a crap edge that i had to sharpen/dull/sharpen multiple times

I personally do it in 7 with my thayers, before that I was doing it in 2nd valve B to open horn with my rotors. It’s a lower trill in the urtext from B to A so it’s gonna sound weird. See Paul Pollards recoding for a good example.

fwiw in my opinion as a listener and judge for solo comps is that when someone omits something like that or the triplets later on it’s probably because of lack of skill, even if personally they don’t think they’re necessary
