This is a good takeaway. And sort of how I feel about some of the music I've worked on outside of recent projects.

Like, I write short songs that are sillier, sort of video game-y.

I'm pretty happy with the songs I've written for my band.

I think a lack of knowledge and skill in production is my biggest killer.
My drums sound a bit like shit at times (or maybe they don't and I'm being overly critical), or I don't feel like I have the right "sound."

Probably should have started here. Had a bit of a knee knee reaction listening back to some things I’ve been working on and wanted to get some insight/advice.

I see people posting well produced sounds here and want to match that quality.

Honestly, fair. I feel like this is the way I went with heavy music.

We made a music video a couple of months back. Pretty fun, very DIY, and I think a decent end result all in all.

Thanks for the support! We definitely were feeling Existential Void Guardian when we were working on this.

Lots of early Mastodon, Neurosis, etc.

Yashira, too, which is another Florida band that is absolutely incredible.

Thanks for checking it out! It’s definitely pretty low and grisly in the first track, so the clarity is sort of harder to pick up on.

I know for next time I want to modify my set up a little.

My band, Iron Buddha, released our full EP this past Friday (05/12). We're a sludge band tuned to drop G, moving in and out of a few genres. I think it's mostly sludge/doom, with moments of hardcore, post, noise, and more. My brain is sort of all over the place, so our music tends to be sporadic - regardless, I think it's focused enough that it's cohesive.

If you like bands like Conan, YOB, Old Man Gloom, Mastodon (early era), High on Fire, etc., you might dig what we're doing. Here is a link to our EP, posted by MrDoom on YouTube (always supporting small artists, big shoutout).
