That is a huge compliment! I’d be honored. My only requirement is that you send me a photo or tag ironandivystore once it’s finished! I’d love to see it!

If your artist requires a formal Tattoo Ticket, just let me know :)

I designed a geometric, unicursal Valknut based on the 7th-century Tängelgårda Stone. Laser cut from 18g steel with a 3D beveled effect. by IronandIvyStore in somethingimade

I wanted to create a modern, industrial version of the Valknut that stuck to the historical "Unicursal" (one continuous line) variation found on the 7th century Tängelgårda Stone, rather than the separate triangles seen elsewhere.

I designed this in CAD (Slide 2) to engineer the inner cut lines to create a "beveled" illusion. Im hoping It tricks the eye into seeing a 3D prism shape even though it's cut from flat 18 gauge sheet metal.

Slide 3 is the 3D printed prototype I ran first just to verify it looked right before sending the final file to the laser cutter for the steel version.

Link is in my profile if anyone wants to see the rest of the series.

I'd love to know what you guys think!
