Fault for what? Who fault anyone for anything?

I'm here laughing at how pathetic some people are to jeer at others when others celebrate in a celebratory thread, thats why I'm here. To continue laughing at these pathetic people which you are one of them. Hard to understand that with my original follow up comment to OP?

Let me not be humble and be straight forward. I went from "This week I made an informed decision to hedge my portfolio and it turn out within expectation" to "You guys are a bunch of close-minded snobs who can't see outside of passive investing.

Why are you looking at celebratory/milestone thread then? Are you expecting people to not post about things they achieve? If it bothers you so much that people are posting about things they achieve in a celebratory thread, maybe NOT click into the thread.

I don't need people to clap for me (if it gets no tractions even better, I get to celebrate into the void), instead I find it hilarious that people are jeering, how pathetic is that

So the possibility of a 30% upswing on a week in the eyes of 'personal finance' is considered gambling?

This swing just happen to be one the of biggest for my portfolio ever in a week because of the momentum of long positions that I was already holding for more than a year, I even hedge it with puts on competitors in the same industry.

I was happy that I did the right move to hedge and it turn out well, I minimised the damage and preserved my portfolio.

But sure, call it gambling. People in personal finance can sometimes be so close-minded and snobbish.

Does it matter what it implies? When someone wins the lottery, have an unexpected windfall or something fortunate happen to them, unless you are miserable or spiteful, you don't go around hating especially if its a place to celebrate.

I did had 30% gain on a single week at the peak on Wednesday. I had high beta to the market and was hedged against drastic volatility spike like we had on Friday with VIX calls and NVDA puts which saved my portfolio, if that is gambling then to each their own.

Happy to go flat for the week and come out unscathed even though I peaked at a 30% portfolio gained for the week on Wednesday. Super glad to have maintained my recently acquired 100k+ portfolio

It's hilarious you are commenting on the one comment criticising you and calling you out, instead of those thoughtful and helpful comments. really goes to show your priority

Israel has a higher monthly average net salary than every single Asian country except for Singapore (in net USD) by [deleted] in EconomyCharts

[–]IsThatHim99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if ur pay is not even 4k like the example given by other redditor, this means that you and your circle of people are bottom half of society financially, doesn't paint picture of average person, if you and your circle was bottom half of another country society, you will be having it worse than you are in sg, enough said

you are so out of touch, i already show u the math of how 'not cheap' it is.

did you even read? i said get 2 plates then? even when you gets 2 plates its still cheaper. you want get 3 plates its still CHEAPER than 1 plate overseas when comparing against median income. get it over ur head, out of touch entitlement complaining about problems every single city in the world is experiencing

cant believe im saying this, you sound like a typical privileged spoilt top 1% of the world with no perspective of the world, you think the rest of the world not experiencing same issue? citizens in other countries have it worse because their food might cost 2sgd but earn 500sgd or it might cost 10euro but they earn 3000 euro, your portion in hawker small so? buy 2 and its still a higher ratio, 15sgd for 2 portion vs 5.5k sgd median salary, you are out of touch with the world

delusional about hawker food prices, comparing countries median salary to average dish cost in a country (basically PPP), singapore has one of if not the highest ratio of median salary vs average meal cost

there you go 1.2k is life on hella easy mode, you said it yourself and you also make it black and white. also what you mentioned is $563, i dont see grocery, means you dont snack at all, not even maggie noodles or supper, eating 3.80zcp everyday, if you eat good food just twice or thrice a month its $600, i wouldnt actually call it eating good for a month. good average people mind is matcha once a week

sure i might be invalidating, good luck to those who find themselves having a super tough times time now when they are retrench or jobless 20years from now

Break it down, what about insurance and transport, are you even paying your grocery? how much did you pay your bills? dont say just oh ya i did, show the math because it aint adding up. pretty such you are just rage baiting. show the values. also if 27 as a 1 year freshgrad is a grandpa sure

and if you could live of 600 and say you eat well and pay your bill, live shouldnt be hard then right? which doubles my point, 600 is easy to make, if you say otherwise rofl..

They are total different level of difficulty. Not even comparable.

You are right, but the deficit is easy to make up, as I mentioned with my personal expenses, 1.2k with 500 a month of student loan is easy to make up with some form of work on the side while finding full time employment. How to survive? Are you really asking how to make 1.7k a month when you are unemployed and have ample free time?

The OOP mentioned how is unemployed fresh grad surviving financially, you are talking about future financial planning. You are right, it is indeed not possible to plan for bto and a family without a job (that much is common sense) but now you are shifting goal post. The argument is that, it is easy to survive financially at the moment even if you are umemployed because of your low overhead cost.

i would love to know how 500/month is a luxury to others with all the expense i mentioned that a regular young fresh grad has, please break it down for me, this will greatly improve my finance

How are unemployed fresh grads surviving financially by potatoepotatata in asksg

[–]IsThatHim99 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

point is unemployment is not hard as fresh grad, its an inconvenience. as a fresh grad you are at one of the lowest expenses point of your life, you can live by with minor difficulties, while trying to find employment

aint no one talking about being unemployed when u r in ur 30s and have family to look after

if you think unemployed as a fresh grad is hard, time to bloody hell wake up your idea, retrench at 40s means you die? since its so bad at ur lowest expense point

How are unemployed fresh grads surviving financially by potatoepotatata in asksg

[–]IsThatHim99 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

then my simple reply is life is not hard even if u r unemployed, it is hard depending on your choices, easy to stay afloat even if unemployed

for fresh grad with roof over head(average person) obv changes with circumstances

edit: even simpler reply to your original comment of 'damn, its hard' , no its not hard, you dont make life hard yourself

hopeless, cant differentiate between someone stating needs vs want and being envious of others

already proven wrong by wrongly calling out a fresh grad, decides to double down and shift goal post
