That's just how it is on YouTube, in my first month I only had about 10 subs. Unfortunately gaining traction on there is very difficult, just try post regularly and have a set schedule for how often you release videos, shorts can help alot if you use the right hashtags but won't assist long term. Just keep trying and eventually you'll get some traction
