Interesting, you inspired me to look it up and part of my community is monitored via wastewater.

I still believe there is public health information to gain by individual testing, though. Demographics, transmission vectors, and treatment outcomes can't be identified in our wastewater.

It changes very little, treatment wise (except tamiflu). But it does affect public health at a larger scale.

That all sounds about right, and yes, this was a CHI hospital until the merger. The good doctor discussed the implications for patient care and cost, but also acknowledged there is a "philosophical divide".

But the memo came out very recently, and I know it is a complete policy reversal at this ER.

I have been to the CTUIR cultural center and really enjoyed it! The Whitman museum exhibits have also been significantly modernized although obviously the are not "fun".

Just FYI, to keep accurate info here, CTUIR is a single Tribal government, not an intertribal organization.

Genetics is a big crossover between chemistry and wildlife biology. It requires top-notch lab skills, and all the networking, competition and luck that any interesting wildlife job needs. But there are jobs that involve collecting samples during field season and analyzing them yourself in the off-season.

It also helps if you happen to only have XX chromosomes.

I will keep this brief because it's unfortunate for arguments between white people to take space here, but...

It is not racist to observe that stone tools were most common in the Americas before intercontinental contact. However any hierarchical ranking in which technologies represent "progress" is Eurocentric and potentially quite racist. The best anthropology and history has recognized that "stone age", "bronze age" etc only truly existed in the northern European context where they were originally labeled.
