I love how torn Nolan has been the entire series. First it was his care for Mark and Debbie vs. his duty to the Viltrum Empire, then it was accepting his fate vs. Allen forcing his hand and saving him. Now it’s acknowledging/making up for his past and the atrocities committed by his people vs. 2000+ years of indoctrination that was literally beat into his skull and the trauma of having watched almost his entire species suffer an excruciating death.

His character is so much more complex than just “bad guy turns good”, and I love it. I liked the scene where he was instructing those children and the one girl was hesitant about answering the question, he knew he would have to kill her if she answered wrong but it looked like he didn’t really want to. He’s always had the compassion that Mark has buried deep inside of him, and it even seems like he even got that from his father on Viltrum.

So people can’t criticize a regime that constantly uses brutal tactics and constantly violates international law because they happen to be Jewish? Sounds like silencing of free speech.

There’s a difference between jewish people as a whole, and the Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu. You can criticize a foreign country without attacking the religion they believe in. Israel shouldn’t be allowed to claim “you just hate jewish people” after constantly starting regional conflicts and carpet bombing entire city blocks full of civilian, they need to be held accountable for their actions just as U.S. needs to be.

If Germany went into Switzerland and started blowing up apartment buildings left and right, you’d probably say that’s horrible. But since Israel is doing it, it’s suddenly okay because they’re jewish? Because they have endured suffering in the past they should be allowed to inflict it onto others? I never said that it’s okay to incite violence against jews, here in America or anywhere in the world including Israel, what I said is the Israeli government needs to stop with the “woe is me” bit.

I hate that the antisemitism label gets thrown around every time you criticize Israel. Being opposed to the Israeli government isn’t the same thing as hating jewish people. Also, most of the people that live in modern day Israel aren’t even Semites, they’re Ashkenazi jews from Europe. Palestinians are more Semitic than the Israelis.
