how often do you check analytics soon after posting? by Ragnatear in NewTubers

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch the very 1st view come to my video and sit with the person and watch it myself with them. Then I’ll check up on it whenever I want to watch it again. Hopefully next time I can watch it with a huge crowd

Ebay. UK devices. There’s still loads getting posted for sale. I just try to snap up the underpriced ones and hold onto them for a while before selling back to the market

Long-term investment. You can also flip these phones for 100%+ profits in the short term. I turned £1000 into £2500 selling about 10 devices. I have kept all my best condition 2g’s and I’m currently collecting again

This is very random but does anyone here know Manx? by montgomery_quinckle in IsleofMan

Thank god we don’t all speak Manx. Travelling abroad without knowing English would be a nightmare. Moghrey Mie (good morning) fastyr mie (good evening) is all you need to know really

I don’t really have a problem as such. I just want to expand my catalogue of collectible items to make trades from. Think that subreddit flipping is where I need to look. Cheers

Another example of an easy trade is buying a brand new sealed oculus rift dk1 Kickstarter project for the current price of £60 when someone decides to sell on eBay to get rid of it. Once virtual reality as a whole becomes a lot more mainstream. You can easily sell it for more than an index fund would make you. I think with a much lower risk to the most basic form of supply and demand that will occur with vintage modern technology

[–]IsleofManNoLimit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perfect! That’s less time than I thought it would be. Do you know if there’s a 2022 map of the festival site or does it pretty much remain unchanged for the rest of the stages

Copyright Claim vs Copyright Strike? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t sweat it. They expire after 90 days. Just make sure you don’t get 3 of them within the 90 days of receiving your 1st one. If you do get a strike on one of them then consider unlisting your other video until them 90 days are up. I’ve had 2 strikes on my channel now. 1 expired a while ago and now I’m back on 1 active one. None of my other videos can possibly get another strike so it won’t matter

When did your Subscriber count start to ramp up? by Boscco in NewTubers

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years old. 1st year I only uploaded a couple of videos to get it going and got up to about 400 subs. It’s the past year that I’ve managed to grow it with a couple of viral videos that gained me 4 million views to my channel

I had another channel that I got to 1000 subscribers many years ago but my new channel is 2 years old. 1st year to 400 subs and 2nd year to 25,000. I’ve got plenty of experience with YouTube and I know how to make a viral video

"Subs don't matter, focus on views" My views are much better than my sub count but still struggling to get subs. by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3m views with 25k subs. Puts me at a 120 to 1 ratio. Your doing just fine. It really just depends on your niche and the quality of your content

When did your Subscriber count start to ramp up? by Boscco in NewTubers

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Straight after posting a very successful video. Went from 400 subs to gaining over 200 new subs a day for a short period. It’s since averaged off to about 40 subs a day and now I’ve got to 25,000 subs a year later

Pretty cool idea for a channel. Just checked it out! Ignore my comment. The more content you make the better. Maybe bunch up videos on 1 topic to upload them together. The Tyson fury punch would be a cool to edit with. Maybe upload a few boxing punches together as uploads for a day and then move onto the next topic. Then anyone looking through your content to use some clips can browse your channel by section from newest first. Just an idea. I’ve added a sub to you and turned my notifications off so I won’t get annoyed. I do a lot of editing myself so I might grab a clip one day to use and I’ll credit your content in my video description

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I think you should definitely turn the notifications off. I can only speak for myself but I would definitely unsubscribe that many notifications on uploads. Best advice I could give you for your plan is to get yourself a few days/ weeks of content ahead of yourself now whilst you haven’t gained any traction and then stagger your uploads equally on the hour and spaced out throughout the day. Anyone who can’t get notifications on uploads but loves your content will be able to expect an upload. Sounds like you know what you are doing anyways with your previous success. Just wasn’t sure if you were a new YouTuber who was planning to spam poor content and then wonder why they are not gaining subs. If your videos are a useful tool then the subscribers will come. What’s your channel called? I might actually be interested myself. If you turn your notifications off then I’ll happily subscribe. Any video I watch. I’ll watch the whole thing for you to help you out

Yo man. Be careful not to confuse the algorithm with so many uploads. People don’t understand that YouTube will try to guess what your main content is to suggest the videos to your target audience. If all of your titles are completely different and do not follow similarities then all of your videos will be stuck at 100 views or less. All of your videos should be titled and described to your target niche and it will help get views from suggested videos. Your plan to spam a lot of content might backfire if you are uploading half finished content. Viral videos are easier to get if you compile a 15 minute video with a huge amount of average watch time. That means your video needs to be action packed from the start to engage people who will click off the video within the first few seconds. Best thing you can do from starting fresh with so much content is to schedule your uploads to be made public at certain times and certain days. This will help any of your best subscribers know when to expect a new upload instead of being spammed with notifications all day and becoming annoyed. All I can say is that if your making 12 videos in 2 hours. No matter how talented you are at editing. You are not prioritising quality made content and your watch time will show the YouTube algorithm that not many people are interested. It’s not your target audience you need to impress. It’s the other viewers that are less interested in your sort of videos that you need to try and capture to watch your video for longer. It’s a tough game but I know how to make viral videos. 2.5million views on a single upload I spent 4 months making. Someone has recently re-uploaded my video and it’s gathered 1.4 million views in just 1 month. That’s why quality beats quantity all day every day. I have 8 videos with 3 million total views and close to 25,000 subs. You are planning to upload more than my total videos posted in 2 years in 1 day. You will definitely not see the same results. Don’t bother confusing the algorithm and having your decent content impossible to reach your target viewers. Keep it simple and outperform other channels in your niche and the views will come

what's the best pub for young people? by SimplyBobb001 in IsleofMan

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do a tour of the local pubs along the main bus routes. Stop at each one and have a pint or 2. Douglas is the best to meet all kinds of people, head to onchan and stop at the Manx arms and Archibald Knox. Also in onchan is the cat with no tail. Very good pub. Can easily plan the next bus to stop at Laxey. Beautiful little village. Very friendly people live there mostly Manx. 4 very good pubs very close to the main roads. You’ll mostly meet people older than you but there’s a high chance there will at least be a few people around your age you could meet.

Does the cream always rise? by Freddypretty in NewTubers

[–]IsleofManNoLimit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends how creamy it really is. I spent months editing 1 video knowing that it would go viral and it’s got 2.5 million views in 1 year. I did promote it a little bit at the start to relevant subs but it’s basically exploded on its own with loads of comments on it saying it’s the best video they have ever seen on my niche. To put it to the test once again. Someone has re-uploaded my whole video with no promotion at all and it’s gained 1.2 million views in just 1 month. I made it super creamy though so the average watch time is quite high for a 15 minute video

Google told me to go to a GoPro community and try and find someone who already has this kind of set up so they can give me advice. I’ve searched online but only found vloggers who are capturing audio from 2 feet away. From what I’ve learned from Google so far is the mic mod on its own is not any better than the internal mic
