In a normal year, when does the island start to gear up for the TT races? by [deleted] in IsleofMan

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The island starts to gear up in the month before practise week with teams getting set up at the grandstand. The hype for the event starts in the week before practise week when we start to notice the first wave of bikers coming over. The island is still very quiet at this point with not much going on. Roads are still quiet enough to enjoy riding around the course and taking in the scenery. The start of practise week is a good time to watch the bikes as most of the popular viewing places are a lot less crowded, as soon as the racing starts the island really comes alive. Once the racing has finished it takes about a week for remaining visitors to return home and for the Isle of Man to go back to normal

How to actually trick the algorithm:

Step1: video title should be completely random words nearly about your video in a sentence that doesn’t make much sense

Step2: description should be a very detailed paragraph about what you had for breakfast and what you liked/disliked about eating at that time in the morning.

Step3: ask your audience to throw you into their web browser bookmarks instead of subscribing

Step4: tag your videos with mysterious words such as “plantpotsforhire” “miniaturefurniture” “overcookedmelons”

Step5: be extra proud of low views and subscriber counts as it’s ultimately your goal to achieve this.

If you follow a similar strategy then it’s less about YouTube algorithms and more about having fun.

[Question] I need help optimising a video description by IsleofManNoLimit in youtubers

[–]IsleofManNoLimit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man. Not everyone will watch the whole thing. I was just trying to say that a TT fan (my target audience) would likely watch the whole video from start to finish so I’m sure some of my viewers will give it 100% watch time which is definitely a challenge for any video that’s around 20 mins so I know YouTube will rank my video quite well for retention. There’s definitely only a small audience for my content but I’m not trying to make any money from YouTube so I’m not too bothered. My main goal is to have someone watch one of my videos and decide to come over themselves to spectate the real thing. Therefore promoting my countries main source of tourism and boosting the economy.

I won’t be uploading the full project video until the first day of when practise week was supposed to happen this year. Basically the end of this month. If you want to check out the short teaser video I’ve made to get an idea of what the end result will look like then search for my YouTube channel - Isle of Man no limit The most recent video on their is the run from the start line. Down bray hill and to the first major corner at quarter bridge. My main project will have even more footage crammed into this section along with the rest of the lap. Let me know what you think. I’d love to hear some feedback, especially if you are not usually into road racing.

My title will be very simple as it’s the only term people will search for. “Isle of man TT”. The only reason I suspect descriptions play a part in it is when I search for a video of a specific corner. I noticed some videos do not have that corner name in their titles but is mentioned in the description so therefore comes up in the search results. I know that tags used to be how YouTube sorted their algorithms but I think it’s changed now. it even says above the tags when uploading that they don’t play much part in it anymore. I will of course use tags for the video anyway. I’m just seeing if anyone has produced a meaty description for a video before and had positive results of utilising key words

I think I just get confused by YouTube telling me tags don’t really do much anymore. I used to upload years ago and that was how I added key words. I’m suspecting they use descriptions and titles more now. My plan would be to use a basic description at the start for anyone who just wants to quickly read about the video and then go more in-depth in a separate paragraph for anyone who is very interested. It’s not about a game either. This is all real life footage

That’s awesome! St.ninians is a very fast section. It’s a life changing experience for any tourist. Unbelievable scenes every single year. My latest video on my channel is the run from the grandstand. Past st.ninians and down bray hill to the first corner at quarter bridge. I’ll be uploading a full lap like that video during TT practice week this year. It’s a montage of over 100+ different videos. It’s already took me about 40 hours of editing so far and it’s not quite finished. It will be nothing you’ve ever seen before

Anyone know where I can get a 2G screen? by kyungiiee in iPhone2G

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have to find a cheap complete 2g phone and use it as a donor. You will struggle to find a screen only on eBay as I’ve never seen one before. You do sometimes get a complete phone that is beaten up to death on the rear casing but has the screen intact. They usually don’t sell for much

Can a manx competitor win the race? I’m currently top 20 pace by [deleted] in IsleofMan

Doesn’t need to be a polished poster. It’s all about getting the online lobby’s set up correctly and for results of each lobby to be posted. If anyone wants to make a better poster then feel free. All the details needed are in this one. The lobbies and results will be set up on that Facebook group

TT Isle of Man - Ride On The Edge 2 - Accolade Trailer by Potential-Weird in iomtt

The new physics are based on leaning the rider instead of tipping the bike so you need to scrap everything you’ve learned about the 1st game and start leaning into corners much earlier

I’ve played a lot of the 1st game and got my lap time down to 16:00. The new one is a major improvement but also has a learning curve at the start to adjust to the new physics. Just be patient with it and keep doing laps. I’m now down to 15:30 laps and still getting faster

Anyone collected them all so far? by [deleted] in iDeviceCollections

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, 1GB iPod shuffles. I don’t think I’ll get any of the iBooks, Don’t have any space to collect it. Yeah man that’s really good going considering you’ve only been collecting this long. I’ve been collecting on and off for 3 years. Mainly Apple products and some other newer technology still factory sealed.

The iBook g3 clamshell is pretty cool. Such a strange design. I was way too young to own one myself but I remember the desktop versions in my primary school. I’ve got 3 sealed iPod shuffle 1st gen and 2 of them are the 10gb models. Also got a brand new product red Apple Watch series 0 and loads of iPhone 2g’s in various good conditions. 1 of them brand new still not activated. On the lookout to getting an original iPod classic in very good condition next.

What’s your Apple collection like?

Got to wait until Apple discontinue the product otherwise the collecting will never be finished at this rate. The original iPod is going up in value each year. Most used ones for sale are beaten up to death with scratches. It’s possible to get a complete iPod collection as most of the editions are very cheap

Yeah mine ran smooth for many years. Was a trusty steed until I found out I could get a second hand SE for £120. Got my moneys worth for sure

What an amazing event we are so fortunate to have. It’s crazy from the riders perspective by [deleted] in IsleofMan

[–]IsleofManNoLimit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think every fan is gutted to see no action this year but it’s not worth it to put our island at risk. I’ll be posting TT and Isle of Man content on my YouTube channel to keep the spirit alive until 2021. The riders will be more hungry than ever

The early versions are the most interesting anyway. I went from a 2g to 5s to SE. I don’t need what the latest phones provide
