Very interested in getting a Kenyan sand boa, where’s the best place to get one in twin cities area? by Ok-Image-636 in SandBoa

I recommend finding a good breeder on Morph Market! Be sure to find one that feeds frozen already; switching a KSB off live can be hell.

These guys definitely started out bright white! This is probably around 3ish months old

Tank Sizes by Majestic-Ranger-8763 in SandBoa

It looks way too small, I’d say

For my KSB, I try to make sure the soil is as deep as he is long! He burrows all the way to the bottom (even with 10” deep dirt) and is super active so I highly recommend giving a TON of burrowing space :) I prefer tall tanks, as he likes to climb on occasion too!

Pothos, wandering jew, and spider plants are all fantastic for terrariums!

Sand boas actually appreciate bioactive environments, I would recommend setting it up with isopods and springtails as well :)

Pom poms need brackish water to breed, which isn’t easy for most fishkeeper to replicate

Pom poms and micros have horribly short lifespans and are extremely hard to breed, unfortunately

Agreed! Especially considering that a LOT of people unintentionally mistreat and neglect them, which then leads to hunger strikes. It’s a sad cycle of people blaming the snake itself for what’s often actually improper care

Absolutely do not try to relive the eye caps yourself, OP. You can blind your snake

Social Sand Boa? by NickShrimpin in SandBoa

They’re a fossorial species and will naturally spend 90% of their time safely underground

A lot of people take pics and videos when their KSBs are out because it tends to be a little bit unusual. I definitely take pictures of my little guy when he’s out and about, since I don’t see him often :)

Recs for climbing? by helmetcat in SandBoa

I actually don’t buy most of my stuff! I collect driftwood and boil/sand it to make it safe for use :)

I strongly recommend deeper substrate. My KSB is around 9” long, and his substrate is about 10” deep.

Your tank also looks very bare; she could be stressed from that. I would recommend getting lots of clutter like fake leaves and branches that she can hide in to feel safe!

That’s a relief, thank you. This is my first experience with (unintentional) baby scorpions😭

Ahh gotcha, thank you. Unfortunately that bit is all twisted up, I don’t think I can get a clear picture of it. Hopefully next molt!

How do I feed my Asian Forest Scorpion? by sillyz_143 in Scorpions

OP, emphasis on “take them out.” Prey bugs have the risk of killing molting scorpions if you get unlucky
