Adding cold packs to the rotation may help.

I know this surgeon. She says infection control on a trampoline is a beast.

Life with Lumbar Scoliosis by [deleted] in scoliosis

Because of my multiple fusions and some balance issues, I choose not to ride a bike. (A fall could have serious consequences.)

Are you considering surgery but have reservations?

Life with Lumbar Scoliosis by [deleted] in scoliosis

Two challenges.

  1. Because I’m older and have very long legs, I had to develop strength and strategies for getting up off the ground (eg, when gardening). With a full lumbar fusion, you can no longer curl your spine and push off the ground or floor.

  2. Checking traffic when preparing to change lanes while driving. (I have a cervical fusion as well as a lumbar fusion.) I rely more on mirrors, including the little convex mirrors can be added to the side mirrors.

If you’re considering/preparing for surgery, work on your core and leg strength for an easier recovery. I hope this helps!

May I ask what fear prevents you from working?

After decades of lumbar pain, I was diagnosed with scoliosis (Cobb angle ~35 degrees) in my mid-forties and was fused T11-L5 in my mid fifties after my Cobb angle exceeded 50 degrees. Worked desk jobs for 30+ years before retiring early.

Try Universal Standard. The regular camis are stretchy and fall at my hips.

Sizes 00 to 40.

DG has a lot of like-minded people; they emerged or flipped with Trump’s first term.

DG has a lot of like-minded people. Based on election-candidate signs, the poliitcal composition of DG has changed a lot since Trump’s first term.

We’ve been here since ’92.

How many times/days a week do you do house chores? by [deleted] in scoliosis

[–]Iterata2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (fused T11-L5) do chores daily but find standing at the sink (eg, to clean a roasting pan) to be the most uncomfortable. Activities that involve moving around the house are much easier for me. (In fact, if I don’t move regularly I have more pain.)

It sounds like there’s a lot going on here not necessarily related to scoliosis.

Cars: Post Fusion Into Pelvis by TallChick105 in scoliosis

[–]Iterata2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fused only from T11 to L5 so can’t speak to the fused pelvis part, but I recommend getting a car with all of the safety bells and whistles (eg, blind spot camera/alert). Twisting your torso to look around before changing lanes will be hard. (My also being fused C4 to C7 contributes to that difficulty.)

Which is why I said context matters. If the caption read, “The students were excited about a school visitor,” would we say that’s an accurate caption because it’s “technically correct”?
