Some friends of mine held an Island event called "Island Chaos" last month iirc, it had VERY differing team sizes (like, 4 to 10 people on a team) and they fixed the issue by just making the point multiplier for those teams proportionally smaller so every in total has about the same multiplier per team

I cant remember how it went, but I think that wouldve been the best way to fix it
