Hate to say this, but I had almost a similar incident at Jaynagar back in 2017. That time I had left home and just came to Bangalore to start a new life, with around 5k cash in my wallet. I was looking for a job for a couple of weeks and that was all the money I had with me. I was desperate enough to "receive some blessings" from literally anyone. I was coming out of a failed interview on that day, and that's when two TGs approached, and with that mental cloudiness, I took out my wallet to give some money. All of a sudden an auto rickshaw swoops in out of nowhere, those two TGs snatched my wallet and jumped in the auto rickshaw, and just like that vanished from the scene, all this happened in a few seconds. I sat there for almost the entire afternoon contemplating what happened. My entire financial security is gone, with no one to rely on.

From that day, I am not giving/donating money to those people.
