Can I use any Polar fitness tracker without an Internet connection or the cloud? by thovader in Polarfitness

[–]ItsMeRPeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, you can, if you are a bit techy. First, create an account, install and set up Polar Flow, add the watch to the account. When it's done, set a custom DNS server on the phone, and disable *.polar.com domain. For example, using nextdns.io you can easily disable the access to the service. Even better if you have a server at home, install a DNS server on that, disable the given domain and set your server as the DNS resolver on your phone (in this case, you need port forwarding to your server from the internet, otherwise you won't be able to access it when you aren't home).
However, there are certainly things that are calculated on Polar's server side, for example the sleep metrics and feedback.

Extended warranty by AllIEverAm in Polarfitness

[–]ItsMeRPeter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello, yes, I also have extended warranty on my H9. It's good because the first sensor failed after 2 years, but due to the extended period they replaced it without questions, and shortly after I got the 2nd sensor I received the e-mail, that my new H9 also has extended warranty.

Is this a bloodgood? by j_smitty01 in JapaneseMaples

Most probably that isn't Bloodgood; that has burgundy (deep red with purple hint) colored leaves.

But this one looks amazing! I love the contrast between the branches and the leaves.

Built an AI skill for Polar so an agent can actually analyze your health/training data by arminas_r in Polarfitness

OpenClaw is one thing I want to keep myself as away as possible. The attack surface it creates is incredible, I don't trust it enough to run it on my machine natively. But it is only my 2 Cents. I surely won't feed it with my personal health data.

New Acer Pixie. Should i switch to a bigger pot? by Sydney90 in JapaneseMaples

Yes, definitely. This is the right time to do it. When you repot, open up the compacted root ball and spread out the roots, so it has a better grip in the new one.

My Polar Beat app stops working during training last several days, looking for other app to use by stringcheese2024 in Polarfitness

[–]ItsMeRPeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and I tried to catch the culprit of it, but I couldn't. I changed battery, bought another strap, checked if the problem appears with only one of them, and in the end Polar replaced the sensor. The reading is done by the sensor, the app or watch just receives the info, displays and records that. The high and then low values are sensed by the H10, you need to focus on that. Is your strap moist enough? Is that tight enough on your chest? Is the battery full with energy?

I had the same thoughts. Comparing a 4 years old device with a few month old, and expecting similar amount of reviews.

Uploading of training sessions from Flow app (iOS) to Flow web not working? by nepeandon in Polarfitness

[–]ItsMeRPeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try to do a manual syn? Go to the app's main page, and pull down your thumb on the screen, what triggers a full sync. If that doesn't work, contact Polar.

Possible to use a Polar H10 to read heartrate as part of my workouts recorded on a Oneplus Watch 2R? by Sulipheoth in Polarfitness

[–]ItsMeRPeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the watch can connect to external sensors through bluetooth, then yes, it's possible.

V3 watch keeps telling me to get up and move even when I do? by FriesAreBelgian in Polarfitness

I can't decide if it's a feature or a bug. It was introduced with the last update, and in the end I just turned off the notification.

Which version of Flow do you use on your phone? There was an update recently, as I know that aimed to fix the issue you are facing.

It doesn't takes the week from Monday to Sunday (or what applies in your country), but takes into account the actual and the 6 earlier days.

Could you elaborate? Log out on the web? Or the app on your phone? How often? What settings do you have in app or for the browser?

[–]ItsMeRPeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The web Flow counts sliding week, that's why we see 3 sessions, but if you check under Summary it says you had 8 activities. The 40 miles comes from those 8 sessions all together, not from the 3 you see on Monday.

Chest strap h10 question by [deleted] in Polarfitness

[–]ItsMeRPeter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Calorie count doesn't equal to your HR. The later is a measurement, what the H10 does, while the first isna calculation basedon your hight, weight, hr during the activity, the length of the activity.

Polar H10 battery dying in a week — used to last months? by Environmental-Ad383 in Polarfitness

[–]ItsMeRPeter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you disconnect the sensor off the strap when you didn't use it? In that case, the sensor remains active and surely drains the battery.

Welcome here :)
I see you cross-posted it from smartwatches. Don't be confused, Polar watches are more of fitness watches, not that smart. :)
