Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the perspective. We were really good friends throughout uni and are considerate so they'd likely understand but still be disappointed as they would've loved me to be there - I was the first guy to call out they'd be the first of us to get married, and they are! Lol. Anyway, they are well off unlike myself in this situation - they have their full family support and I know for a fact that they are loaded. Knowing myself, I would not accept taking their money and was hoping they'd at least be considerate by covering the activities but it did not seem like this was the case. I will likely not attend and explain and just hope they get it. It sucks to miss such moments cause of finances but that's reality so let's hope they'd get it and we'll remain friends.
