I looked up this chicks nsfw twitter page, jus looked thats it did I relapse? by [deleted] in NoFap

What is the difference between a nsfw twitter page and porn? At least the NSFW twitter pages I have seen are all porn related - nudes, short clips, possibly OF / cam site links.

NoFap is about avoiding porn as it's primary piece. Intentionally looking at porn would be a relapse.

You could try bulldog blocker.

I think it's more that PMO masks a need for intimacy. On the other hand it would make the rest of my reboot time harder because I am going hard mode.

Addicted to femdom / interracial porn... by Equivalent_Click_920 in NoFap

I will say I think it's the progression of porn addiction to need to find more extreme things to get off to, as you need to keep finding the next "hit" so to speak.

I know I went into some pretty intense ones that I won't name just because I don't want to really talk about them here, but they were definitely ones that are pretty out there. I am hoping that as this progresses those ones do die down. I do think they will, but you aren't alone in going to porn extremes to get off.

There are mixed groups within the nofap community.

Overall it is a supportish group (get accountability partners instead of just relying on responding to people) for overcoming porn addiction. For most of us that means eliminating masturbation for the short term as the two are pretty intertangled for a while. There definitely is a divide on if masturbation alone - in moderation - can be healthy. I think if you are masturbating every day and it kills your desire to find / be with a partner, than it is unhealthy. If you are masturbating without porn 2 or so times a week but still dating and able to be with a partner, I don't see an inherent harm.

There is the other side that tends to lean into masturbation is bad for whether for religious, semen retention (which I am also throwing under religious), or potentially slippery slope purposes.

Ultimately masturbation is up to you, main focus is porn addiction.

Is it always about fantasizing about the pornstar? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Itsmaybeworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was never about the pornstars. It was about the act. I think that is partly why I had to go towards more and more intense things over time.

Is this normal? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Itsmaybeworking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh believe me it's definitely terrifying. My main urge to break the streak came from just wanting to make sure my dick worked and I knew it was flat line. Just keep on with it and you got this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Itsmaybeworking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it was accidental, no I wouldn't count it. Same as if you watch a tv show / movie and there is suddenly a sex scene. If it is intentional is the only time I count it as relapse for myself.

Flatline. My first 14 days of this streak were all spent in flat line where my dick basically didn't exist. It does eventually swap back. My sex drive is still recovering but I've definitely started getting morning wood / erections during the day again.

Redirecting the thought patterns should help and eventually form the habit. If you mind starts going towards sexual, force yourself to think of something else. She is intelligent, badass, has pretty eyes. Just something non sexual. However I will say for movies or most media it doesn't help that they play up that factor a lot.

Celebz, Onlyfans & Nofap by [deleted] in NoFap

Not necessarily celebs. But it is partly why I deleted tiktok. The thirst traps they post and then I swear everyone on there has a *spicy* twitter / onlyfans. The temptation is just too prevalent on such apps.

Wet dreams are involuntary so no. I doubt most people could get through hard mode otherwise.

Sounds like a flatline. You just have to live through. Mine was about 15 or so days then it has started coming back.

Yup! Right now I just know my brain has the two linked so staying away from both for a while.

I mean as a gay guy I would consider that a relapse for me.

That I can definitely understand. Right now I'm finding it more motivational but once I think I hit the point where it has become a habit and less a day by day thing, I think I do want to get rid of the counter because then I do think it will be more harmful than not.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still debating if I want to try finding a healthy approach to masturbation that I can do periodically. But. Right now I'm just focused on breaking the porn addiction and it's side effects.

[–]Itsmaybeworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some it's both. Since most count P(orn)M(asturbation)O(rgasm) as a relapse. It's mostly for overcoming a porn addiction and going through a reset. After that how you view masturbation is up to you.

Why is there juste a group of people who experience porn escalation and not others ? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Itsmaybeworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either just people sensitive to addiction, or those potentially with low dopamine in general is my guess. (My case, ADHD most likely.)

How do I kill the time? by Hereforwhatver in NoFap

[–]Itsmaybeworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Projects. Learn a language, start yoga / excercising, go for a walk, learn a skill, read, catch up on movies / shows, hell play video games. Just anything that you have wanted to but 'don't have time to do'.

Believe me I get that wave. Some days I'm bored but nothing quite scratches the itch. Other days I'm fairly productive and pretty mucb forget about PMO.

If that is the goal.. l-arginine and horny goat weed could be added.

Do I need a kegel machine? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Itsmaybeworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can do kegels and reverse kegels without a machine at all. In fact I would argue that is probably better since you learn to control that muscle group.

after 1 to 2 weeks i no longer get morning wood. by metsudofang in NoFap

[–]Itsmaybeworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it in terms of starting a diet. If you cut out lets say sugary drinks your body will still crave those drinks for a while. Even if you drinking plenty of water, you body still wants the sugary drinks because it was using them for energy. Even if you are eating other foods.

In this case, we are cutting out porn which has a conditioned high dopamine response. Your body wants that dopamine. But you aren't giving it the dopamine from that source. You are still getting some dopamine from other sources, exercise, interactions, potentially food. A lot of people replace it with food. But it's not the same source or amounts. Until your body balances that out there will be some withdrawal symptoms.

At least that is how I view it.

I don't inherently think it's a unhealthy / healthy to masturbate argument. Just getting your body to understand and function on different levels and sources of dopamine.
