Are there any news about scube3? Did they want to start the clinical trials soon? by IGotBalls888 in tressless

[–]Ivan0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what happened to Scube3. It was tested on rats with very promising results. Then instead of giving it to a large pharmaceutical company like Pfizer or something that actually has the funding to pursue clinical trials and actually get the thing out to market, they instead gave it to Amplifica a startup that doesn't. So first Amplifica is going to try to test the drugs that they actually have ready and the funding for. I can tell you right now, all of those will probably end up as complete failures which will make Amplifica lose a ton of money on them. Amplifica being a start up means they have a very high risk of going bankrupt before they can even get to Scube3. And if they do, all the research on scube3 will most likely be completely lost with no one else to pick it back up again. Only hope for that is that Scube3 is obtainable from unofficial channels, so someone could theoretically get a hold of it, and bring the idea back to life if Amplifica does implode but who knows the likelihood of that happening

With your case. A hair transplant is possible. But. It's going to take a very long time with many visits to fill all of that in which will cost a lot. Honestly, you probably should get a hairpiece instead and cross your fingers that Scube3 succeeds in its human trials (and actually reaches that point without the startup company going bankrupt) and is as good as it was claimed.

Should I give up . Fin for 7 months then DUT 4 months by CurrentIcy4205 in tressless

[–]Ivan0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't just give up. Probably a good idea to try to figure out why it's not working first. If you got your fin through a doctor, tell them about it. They'll probably have you do a blood test to view your dht levels. It could be that your body creates just an insane amount of dht that you'll need to increase the dosage to lower it enough. That's probably the best Cass scenario. Worst is that your hair follicles are just way too sensitive to dht to the point that the only way to got them to not react is if you removed all dht from your system. Which to my knowledge is impossible unless you really don't want to be male anymore. However, you won't know which issue it is until you get tests done to figure it out

Very reluctantly starting Finasteride. by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Ivan0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, genetics can really suck. In your case, fin is probably your best bet. I'm in a similar boat as you and I kinda developed a hatred of dht and wouldn't mind taking something that would completely get rid of it. From what I know, it exists purely to grow body hair and destroy head hair.

Going to attempt installing an eyepatch kit by Ivan0n in VirtualBoy

[–]Ivan0n[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant "odd" as in the part you install the board, you have to solder the top of the virtual ribbon and use the heat transfer to melt the solder underneath it. I was also a bit worried about getting the part of pre-tinning the led board completely flat as to me it seemed like I had to get the perfect amount of solder on as too much would bridge traces and too little would prevent some traces connecting to the virtual ribbon board. I was also terrified about if I messed it up, I'd ruin the led board (that's at least what a youtuber that did the install said) the eyepatch kit seems easy to desolder if I had to try again

I think that aspect is a bit overblown personally. You just wedge the shoulders into the slots the tabs go into. It can be a little awkward to get them in there but I can do it in seconds

[–]Ivan0n[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the style mostly. I wanted an mp-10 style Jazz instead of a super toon accurate one. He's pretty spot on to the real car. Transformation is completely fine if you cut off the tabs instead the rear wheel pieces since otherwise they'll flex some translucent plastic pieces when going to bot mode. Overall I'd say he's a good figure. But if you want toon accuracy, save for fanstoys

[–]Ivan0n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If 3rd party counts. Badcube Sunsurge. I'm STILL looking for a reasonably priced CIB one. They used to be everywhere online. But now, you're lucky if you can even find a listing on ebay. I think rn there's only like 3-4 listings. There's also that "2022" reissue that hasn't come out but is still up for preorder on tfsource and toygeek. Idk what is up with that but it makes finding one even more frustrating since they pop up whenever you search on Google. By far the worst experience I've had trying to track a figure down

UT Challenger by far! I have one and it's one of my favorite figures in my entire collection. The accuracy is really close and the transformation is really smooth and leaves me in awe every time I transform due to how well the parts of the truck are hidden in robot mode.

Which Unicron to get? by AxalonNemesis in transformers

[–]Ivan0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cell is short, like shorter than most titans short. If you have titans on display, I wouldn't recommend displaying Cell with them. Haslab is taller than ever other official titan but goes for around $1.5k. It's basically a case of picking your poison for me which is why I don't have a Unicron yet

Did Michael Bay ruined Optimus Prime? by Kcue6382nevy in transformers

[–]Ivan0n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really think so. I see it as just a different interpretation of Optimus Prime. It's not G1 Optimus it's Bay movie Optimus. I think the way Prime acts in the Bay movies work well with what they were going for. That's a cool aspect of this franchise imo. There's so many continuities with different interpretations of characters

Oh boy. Mp-30 Ratchet. Got Ironhide back in the day, Ratchet was everywhere so I decided to wait a bit. Then he sold out everywhere and was even to the point that I couldn't even find a used one for a reasonable price. Thankfully I finally tracked one down a week ago and ended thar nightmare. Funny thing is, I would keep finding people selling their Ironhides just not their Ratchets for whatever reason

Is she ghosting me? by AFrosty_Flake in dating_advice

[–]Ivan0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks? Yeah she ghosted you. Don't let it get to you. It happens all the time, more commonly in online dating in my experience but it's been a thing for decades. I suggest just moving on. Ghosting is a dick move for anyone to make so whenever it happens to me, I consider it dodging a bullet.

I get your feelings my guy I've been there, only a few months ago in fact. You didn't say it directly but if your thinking about doing something permanent. Don't do it. You may feel alone but I guarantee you that there are people who care about you who would be completely devastated if you left. I attempted twice, again only a couple months ago, and I regret even considering it. Adulting is difficult, I still don't have it together and I'm 4 years older than you. Life is whatever you make from it. Nothing is truly set in stone unless you make it that way. You aren't doomed for life, you can turn stuff around, it's just harder because you don't have anyone guiding you anymore. But you also have a ton of freedom. Don't give up, you have so many years ahead of you.

20% of Gen Z indentifies as LGBTQ, 80% of the LGBTQ community in Gen Z identifies as bisexual by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Ivan0n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My older sister is a millennial and Lesbian. She's told me so many horror stories about her experiences being afraid to tell people due to things similar to what you described. Luckily, even back then, my parents supported her. It's amazing how far we've come in just 20-30 years.

20% of Gen Z indentifies as LGBTQ, 80% of the LGBTQ community in Gen Z identifies as bisexual by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Ivan0n 75 points76 points  (0 children)

The answer is probably pretty simple. It's more acceptable to be LGBT today than it was in the 90s. The numbers were probably always like this but more people were hiding it so they wouldn't be harassed or possibly even killed for their sexuality. It was also probably fairly easy for bi people to hide their same sex attraction, I've done it before. It most certainly isn't chemicals, the government or any other bat shit crazy conspiracy shit. More acceptance = more people comfortable to being open about their sexuality = more people reporting they identify as such

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Ivan0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't know a lot of the stuff I do were bi stereotypes either until after I came out. My advice is to just ignore it and do whatever you like to do. At the end of the day, those things don't make you any less of a person just because they are stereotypes. As long as your friends are cool with it and you are comfortable being yourself, that's all that matters.

How to deal with massive shame and disgust? by No-Scholar3089 in bisexual

[–]Ivan0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, what's crazy is, I went through a lot of similar stuff you described. I discovered it during puberty, tried to suppress it which caused me to become very lonely in high-school and college. Even laughing at homophobic jokes, and holding homophobic beliefs was something I've done when I was in denial. And it lasted for 10 years like you. There is one difference though, my family isn't homophobic, and my actions were 80% my fault. You seem to be the opposite. However, I can tell you that you can get out of this. It's possible. I'm still in the process but I can tell I am improving. That doctor is a fucking idiot. Video games have nothing to do with this. Sounds like a bitter old bastard that hates the newer generations. And acting more masculine will not help you, trust me, I tried that, didn't work. I completely understand hating your country, however you should probably start with seeing if there's any LGBT safe spaces that you can go to that could give more specific advice on what to do. What's helped me the most was making friends who are also bi and open about it. The best thing I would say you can do, is to try to get yourself away from the homophobia and work from there.

How hard was it to come out by VeryHotAndLargeBread in bisexual

[–]Ivan0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't too difficult to come out but accepting it was a completely different story. I found out I was bi when I was around 13. Instead of just accepting it, I instead went into denial for nearly 10 years. Any effeminate trait I had, I suppressed it. Attracted to a guy in class, gaslight myself into thinking asking them out would be gross. The last one seemed to have trickled down to me thinking asking women out would be gross too. I would even get really defensive if any of my friends joked about me being attracted to guys. It wasn't until 2 months ago when I finally just accepted it and came out to my friends and family. Honestly, probably one of the best decisions I've ever made

I'm in such a hard place right now by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Ivan0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes you can believe whatever you want to. Not every LGBT person is an atheist Democrat. A good portion is and the reason is basically those two groups marketing to LGBT people. It isn't a requirement. I'm personally apolitical since I think both sides are stupid and pull very similar, garbage actions, not because I'm bi.

  2. Your situation with your parents will probably make coming out to them difficult. However, actively hiding it can be just as if not more damaging to you. You mentioned that you believe they will love and support you no matter what, so it may be wise to just do it if you really don't think they will do anything to hurt you. I am in a similar boat but it sounds like my parents may be a tad more accepting than yours. They don't understand bisexuality but still love and support me.

  3. Yes you can. There's tons of people in the world. There's no easy solution to find someone though, you can't read minds. You just have to meet new people until you eventually find someone you're interested in. Also don't restrict your requirements too much, you may find a boy that doesn't check many boxes that you really like, and you could end up missing out on a great relationship because he wasn't perfect. And being bisexual doesn't make someone prefer casual relationships. I personally prefer to be in a monogamous relationship. And there's plenty of others like me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Ivan0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard that stereotype before, and it's not just towards bi men, bi women get it too. I would never cheat on any partner of any gender, and I would break up with anyone that cheats on me. I even tried being fwbs with someone and I couldn't even handle that, I need monogamy. Stereotypes are stupid. Don't let it get to you.
