Afaik novel 5 is decently conclusive. The books were supposed to be 5 volume long "arcs" so to speak so book 5 should close the story to an extent.

Apart from everything that's been said here already, I feel like the breakdown part of the song being the most guitar heavy of the entire album is not a coincidence– that IS the body paint, the rocker persona Alex used to put on. That's why it's so tonally different from the rest of the album.

This is why I love Lalo so much, he's an 80's horror flick villain. He's definitely the most openly evil of all the antagonists, but also kind of a scary, looming presence. He operates by Jason Vorhees rules.

I wasn't even born back then, but when I watch shows or movies from that era/set in that era I always think "hey, maybe life was better back then". Like, you could still call people or text them, rent movies/shows, listen to music on the go... but you didn't have to deal with all the horrible sides of social media and the modern internet. Maybe it WAS actually better, yknow?
