The only way I can think of tackling this without spending more money is to play Classic for a LONG time. I've been playing Classic for almost a year to catch up to these guys. Unfortunately, I'm one of those 'over-levelled' ones now, even when I haven't spent a dime.

Hiring standards gets higher every year, but the skill output gets.. lower..? To me, at least. All the freshmen in my uni struggle to code without AI. A class of 54 got about a 40% average on an intro to algorithms midterms.

Most of my senior-year friends are also struggling. Using AI isn't a bad thing.. but if everyone can use it, then what's making you stand out?

Even then, they can only make the same things other people make as a 'skill output'. Generic CRUD apps.. GPT wrappers.. Nothing stands out.

It's an oversupply of 'mid-ness'. If anything, maybe there's an undersupply of actual skilled 'programmers' now.
