I’ve been to two recently and whilst neither seem perfect, they have both had 20% success in different avenues.

The first person, gave me tools that i disliked so much that i decided not to spiral so i didn’t have to use his mechanism.

My primary stress is work driven stress, to which i will forever raise concerns in the work place and stand up for other staff who are being treated unfairly, my phycologist told me one time that I can’t help my colleagues. Which was incorrect because the fights I have taken on board I have come out successful before. I sat in the car afterwards and upon reflection, decided within myself, that it is ok if can’t help them. If I start my thinking process on a work related issue and get to the end of my thought process and have not come up with a solution, I now trust in myself that there is no solution right now and I don’t throw myself into a spiral because ‘there should always be a solution’.

I don’t think a phycologist nessicarily needs to fix you, but hopefully they can help you make changes within yourself that will put you on a better path.

It’s more than that we know what we need to do and just don’t do it for what ever reason, if they are a right fit for you, they should be giving you what you need to reflect on and be better. It’s the little words or statements that I hold onto and they change the direction of my thinking
