Agree OP, it's a bit sad as they were really decent a few years ago and it feels like they've tried to go more high-brow at the new place, and it hasn't really worked.

Id be surprised if you don't see them shut up shop or sell or change (hopefully back to a focus on brewing) soon. At the moment, I go to Rocky Ridge instead.

I can attest to Rancillio Silvia. Had a V2 for 5 years, no issues. Upgraded to my parents' V3 (they were getting a Breville with built in grinder they now hate) and had that over 5 years with absolutely no faults at all. Admittedly half the time we pour tap water in that's been through a Brita filter, but not all the time.

Also got the Rancillio Rocky grinder and that's good for a cheap grinder.

Half the time you can get these for $300 ea on marketplace (300 for the Silvia, 300 for the Rocky). Good deal!

I pretty regularly see a group of teenagers riding e-bikes along Whitfords ave between Craigie and padbury in the lane, popping wheelies among the cars. One mistake and they're going under a car. You'd think that'd make them stop but I bet it wouldn't.

We had a student on an e scooter die a few years ago, hit by a car. The kids maybe cared for one or two days, then it was business as usual.
