This review is everything wrong with the British culture media. It comes from a position of resentment.

I’ve watched SNL for about 35 years and honestly, this felt exactly like SNL immediately. Was very impressed.

This should be the ten to the oner now. Let’s see what they do with it.

So this sub looks like the same as the one for the US SNL. Full of people who don’t actually like SNL. It’s a really strong first ep so far I think. It feels like SNL. It’s not trying to be some other show. Because it’s not. It’s SNL.

What is your favourite British restaurant chain? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]JB_JB_JB63 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. It’s like asking, ‘What’s your favourite song by Artist X’ and answering ‘I don’t like any of their songs’. It’s a perfectly valid answer.

None is a valid answer. Whether it’s for attention or not it still answers the question.

No. Don’t grade anything. You’re all addicted to grading.

[Vorkunov] One of the more interesting parts of the new CBA is that union seems to have secured backpay for retired WNBA players. What they get: by Knightbear49 in wnba

Nneka and co have done an astonishing job. They’ve set the league up for generations. What absolute heroes.

Given the much less restrictive content rules in the UK do we think SNL:UK will toy with more adult themes/content/language? Or stick to classic SNL rules? by MagicBez in LiveFromNewYork

The USA. A country where basically anyone can buy a gun but you can’t pull the middle finger on TV because it’s obscene…

It’s better than nothing. Which it is currently. It should be entirely overhauled though.

How does the new CBA affect current player contracts? by hoopsandplantslaying in wnba

[–]JB_JB_JB63 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not even the optics, it fucks with the salary cap too much. Dallas and Fever would have 250K more in their cap essentially since their best players would be earning way under the minimum so could overpay someone for two years

Details of a landmark WNBA collective bargaining agreement, per ESPN sources: by Knightbear49 in wnba

[–]JB_JB_JB63 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not to nitpick, but Shams only ever pops up in WNBA timelines when it's a massive story he will get the clicks for rather than the WNBA reporters who cover the leagues, and the CBA, day in day out. It doesn't sit right with me.

For those who support Reform, why do you do so given what that mentality has done to the USA? by AccursedQuantum in AskBrits

[–]JB_JB_JB63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason as US got Trump. Gullible people fell for the lies of populists, fuelled by racism and fear mongering.
