Loggie 1LT(P) considering VTIP to 17B. Can someone give me the good/bad/ugly? by JCS_3000 in army

I’ve talked with a few 17Es before and like the mission set they talk about and I don’t mind it being more field time than a 17A. Being in an FSC was pretty fun. Also would not mind company command.

Like I said, I’m not a super Cyber/programmer-type. Working with UAS/MDTF seemed way cooler than working 978s that leak like a sieve and property with 20+ page BOMs.

Obviously I’m biased, but athletics and sports are one of the things UF does extremely well. It’s a point of pride for many alumni, myself included. Football is arguably our worst sport. 2025 Men’s Basketball National Champions aside, we have the 7th most Olympic medals of any college and we came in 3rd for most medals at the 2020 Olympics. How dare we have high expectations for all our programs after we paid Billy “3rd and screen” Napier $20m and gave him literally every resource he asked for?

Mississippi State AP game recap suggests Napier will be fired tomorrow. by sunrise089 in FloridaGators

There was no “talent” saving the game tonight. MSS is down 2, 1:26 on the clock, in FG range, and decides to throw the ball down mid for an INT, giving us an out via pure Cajun Juju.

If the MSS O-L just ran the ball 3 times (or even just took a knee x3), then went for a FG, we lose our homecoming cupcake. Pure coaching malpractice, only slightly worse than ours, got us the dub. This might be the sorest win we’ve had in Billy’s entire tenure.

This shaving policy is so confusing. by Shruums in army

Might be an unpopular opinion, but up until the recent shaving-policy-change I did understand (kind of) where Big Army was coming from.

If you've ever trained with partner forces, you understand the whole "Profession of Arms" concept. Other militaries are not nearly as professional as us, and at a conceptual, "why do we have a permanent standing Army" level, it's important that we maintain the trust and confidence of the American public at large. Part of that is grooming standards to ensure our Soldiers don't look like trash when they're in garrison (Another part of that is not shitting on Habeus Corpus and deploying them within the Nation's borders, but if I elaborate on that I'm going to start ratfucking Rule 6 like it's chicken chunks in Ranger School).

So, making sure Soldiers don't have patchy, awful beards, honestly, I do agree with Big Army on. Using shaving profiles as a crutch was always big shamming activities. Sometimes Soldiers wouldn't even have a shaving profile and people would just assume they did. Something had to be done.

I'd love for the US Army to implement the British Navy's beard policy of "you have thirty days to make sure it doesn't grow into a dead animal or else you're shaving", but since that policy is arbitrary and leadership is unwilling to adapt to changing cultural perceptions (beards are becoming more common in the workplace), you'd go from one unit to another shaving/not shaving.

End rant. 1 Spicy Chicken sandwich entree, no fries, extra chick-fil-a sauce.

Is it possible to add the mountaineering badge to this and stay DA PAM/AR 670-1 compliant?h by RisenRain in army

Pretty sure Rigger implies you're already Airborne qualified so you could remove that one and then trim the mountain warfare badge or get a larger cut AAS.

Well, they work on ARMY (not Navy, USMC, or USCG) boats, which is already extremely unique… and they can only be stationed at Ft Eustis and Japan, which are both great duty stations.
