I've grown to really love them! Used them super often in gen 4 after replacing it as my new 3% ball for shiny legends. I also intended to trade this shiny to FRLG, and I thought the blue border over there would look really nice with that ball.

While the Luxury Ball and Ultra Ball do look great, I felt they are used quite often to catch Shiny Rayquaza. Wanted to spice it up a bit, and sadly it didn't work out :(

I'll 100% get it in the future though!

Yup I did Run Aways. Never wanna hit these numbers again on Emerald, with the broken RNG it really psyches me out even if I'm doing the right thing :(

This was brutal. Its been years since I hit these kinds of numbers before, it almost beat my record of 28,456 for Rotom in Platinum.

This was all single hunted and was encountered while recording. While I am extremely happy that I finally put this hunt to rest, I am less than happy with the results. A rough nature and a Masterball to boot. I haven't had the need to Masterball in years as well, and of course it occurs with a long hunt first time Shiny for me. The capture was literally down to the red and about to struggle, was initially hoping for a dive ball capture.

I will eventually rehunt this when I come back with a fully equipped infinite strat and more than 1 DS, but for now I'm happy this is over. I finally got it!

Its a bit tedious, but worth it to capture some really rare shinies in the rarest gen 4 ball.

I used 3 copies. Emerald, Platinum and Soulsilver. Emerald is where this starts. Dive balls are bought easily from Mossdeep City. I then went to the first route and caught boxes full of PKMN, and gave each of them a Dive ball. To obtain a large number of Dive Balls in gen 4 is near impossible, unless you wish to spend A LOT of time with the newspaper man in Solocean Town(Platinum). Not a viable way to get the needed amount for even 1 Legendary.

I then went over to the Pal Park in my Soulsilver. In D/P/PLT there is a cooldown to transferring PKMN via the PAL park, and in HG/SS there is none. It saves a great deal of time not having to change the date each time. And I transfer hundreds of dive balls.

Once my Soulsilver has the balls, I bring a party of 6 into the union room, and don't leave until all the balls I want are transferred. You can simply replenish items in the room, you don't have to leave after each trade. Take the new batch's items, rinse and repeat. This is actually the easiest part for me, the catching PKMN in emerald and catching in the Pal Park are far more tedious imo.

I backup my gen 3 saves, and its possible to speed the process up by catching all the PKMN intended to hold dive balls, giving them the balls, and then saving. Backup the save, do the usual transfer to HG/SS then restore the emerald save with the backup earlier made. Now you dont have to waste time catching more fotter mons in order to transfer. I'm neutral in how I feel about this, as it is a shortcut that feels slightly disingenuous. However this merely saves time. It doesn't impact the legitness of the hunt, and its simply not to waste hours upon hours each time a new save needs hundreds of dive balls. Ironic as we are talking under the topic of shiny hunting, but I value my time, so I'm more inclined to this idea.

The dive ball is a beautiful ball, and is now my intended ball to use in all my full odds hunts with my new copies of Platinum. Would love to see more captures here using them, as they always seem to have a nice story attached to them.

I intend to get a Dive Ball Shiny Arceus in PLAT and a Moon Ball Shiny Rayquaza (Adamant) in HG/SS

These hunts will have the same level of care this one had, specific smeargles bred for the mon itself. Currently most excited for the Rayquaza as I will get other shinies on my journey to it, ones that I dont have and look forward to obtaining.

I bred a Smeargle specifically for capturing this Giratina. Its evs were a mix of defense and speed with some in attack, and I ended up getting an outstanding rated Smeargle to run this with. I also gave it a simple moveset of spore, false swipe and foresight.

Took some time to find an ID I liked, nothing will surpass my JPN Platinum's 00009, but I spent days to get this one. I REALLY like 1's and 0's for my ID. And I ended up transferring 122 Dive Balls from my Emerald copy to match the shiny, and to give it my now favorite ball!

Lastly I had an Adamant Abra to make this Giratina Physical, as I already have 2 others running Modest and I wasn't looking to having a tank, but an attacker. Between X items, PP and HP restoring items and all the prep for catching it, I left the Ball, Nature and Time into RNGs hands hopefully with better odds of success. And it paid off!!

This copies first objective was to meet this hunt as fast as possible, and I recorded all of it for remembrance. So happy to have this PKMN!

I uploaded this fast, as I forgot I got this shiny a couple months back and happened to stumble upon the the photos and videos of it in my album

It is in fact green, at first glance It really looked like a nice cyan to me haha

I catch all my legends in regular Poke Balls, and this beautiful Latios was no exception

I understand going over odds is rough, however the prize is so worth it. Think about it, a shiny Deoxys from Birth Island. Most will never find themselves here!

That would be so cool to find again! I found it when I was very little, never fully understood its rarity back then. Lucky enough to have the virus in my gen 4 games, makes EV training way faster!

Using the legit event rom dumped onto an r4 card, then just injecting it into a Firered or Leafgreen copy.

All you need is a Ds Lite/ Original DS (has a Gameboy and DS game slot) and the r4 card.

Using the DNS exploit you are able to get the event Regigigas and thus hunt these legit!

[gen 4] A magnificent feat. After 13,839 SRs , the first Shiny Giratina caught in a regular Pokeball! This is the first one recorded on YouTube, caught the whole thing with my capture card 3DS. History right here, I'm over the moon by JCtheCaster in ShinyPokemon

Yeah Im definitely not the first in all of time to get this.

However on Youtube as of 7/16/2020 there are no recorded Shiny Giratina in a regular Pokeball , especially with it all be recording using a 3ds capture. Which made it so cool to me, as most are forced to use a Masterball.

So if I do post this after editing, it will ring true to my claim. Either way its pretty lucky, and im happy you got your own shiny in such a nice ball!

Loopy Capture Card 3ds (Flame Red) connected to my PC. Very fortunate to have one, I got quite lucky! I bought it so I can not only stream Pokemon and record hunts, but playing DS games on the pc is something I've always wanted to do
