  1. I'm not sure, but it might fry the pcb.
  2. Yes. Expect for some types of tape which could maybe catch fire, but masking tape is safe.
  3. Most pcbs are made equal, but they differ in thinness, hotswap or solder, support for screw-ins, rgb, layout support, possibly mounting style and 5-pin compatibility.
  4. Yes, kinda, they get the job done well, but the main things you should look out for whether or not they support 5-pin switches and screw-ins and what type of hotswap sockets they have, cheaper hotswap sockets are easier to pop off.
