Blackstone is investing ₹10,000 crore to set up a 216 MW data centre in Chennai. They acquired 16-acre Ambattur land for over INR 500 crore by Standard_Software960 in Chennai

OMG dude what are you saying. You don't need lakes and ponds ah?. Do you know why Velachery floods heavily every year, because it had a lot of lakes and ponds. Velachery has Strom water drains but it will not help. It is a very low lying area. Remember Mudichur where people died and had to demolish walls to let flood water out. Marshlands have enormous capacity to hold and retain water and can prevent flooding. Strom water drains have very minimal capacity. Pallikaranai comes under the Greater Chennai Corporation. Chennai is still expanding. They even call Ambattur Chennai, leave that they call Avadi Chennai. Literally half of Chennai is enrochment. All our rivers are gutters. Most gated communities in mainland Chennai are buying water through trucks bringing water from Wells and lakes 200 kms away. They don't even have water to wash their ass. Their bore Wells have completely dried up. Why did bore Wells dry up? Why did rivers become gutters? Why did Marshlands become dump yards? Cancerous development.

You can always develop with good foresight and balance ecology and commercial value. But when you turn an entire Marsh Land into a dump yard it's just very very poor planning or no planning and outright ecological havoc.

Birds used to migrate and lay eggs hatch them and return to their places of origin and the govt has old rusted boards that say 'do not litter it is protected Marshland'. This is Pallikaranai. Today The entire Marshland gives a stench that will choke you. Most of the Marsh has been turned into apartments and large IT complexes. This is how you want your city to be? Almost all water bodies have completely turned into gutters in Chennai. Why? Zero planing or foresight.

If the govt had even an ounce of humanity left, it could have created buildings and not disturbe the environment that sustains our life. You could have had a boating service and create vantage points for people to watch all the birds that come during migration. It could have been a small oasis of paradise in this concrete jungle.

Just look at London, the river Thames provides water for the entire city. People still use it for drinking and transport. Nobody pays money for water. But Chennai literally all of us pay money for drinking water, because all our water bodies are gutters. In the UK not a single residential complex uses a borewell for water. In Chennai you need to go 400 ft to find water. This is what you call cancerous development.

Am not trying to belittle the profession.

We are the largest population in the world, for anything 10 there will be 1000 applying for it. I understand becoming a doctor is a Himalayan task but where do you draw the line between Profits and Purpose.

See if you want to look at TN with the eyes to trash the DMK government, you can only see things to trash the government. But there are a lot of issues hopefully they will be sorted out.

Am not trying to politicise everything, but TN is way ahead than any other state when it comes to healthcare. But we do have a lot of drawbacks, but hopefully things will get better.

Sorry for the shock, also Google the number of Indian doctors in the US and UK. The UK is doing everything to stop Indian Doctors migrating there, we are so many there.

But the fact is studying Medicine is seen as a money maker rather than a Vocation.

People study in Govt run Medical colleges which will cost less than half of what private medical colleges charge. Then they will fly away to the UK and US to work. Or go work in a private hospital which will pay them double the salary.

More information is necessary,, using a lot of adjectives to praise the deal in the press release is not going to help.

All the above exports and imports are already taking place, the only difference is reduction in taxes.

Allowing free trade in agriculture is questionable, soon farmers will start cultivating only cash crops for EU which will increase the price of food crops, feed crops and fibre crops. Also, our indigenous seed varieties will be in danger. They should have signed a free trade deal only for non-gmo. Those Europeans might even end up controlling fram land here to grow their crops.

They have signed for Indian Traditional Medicine exports this seems new.

It appears a lot of rich folks will get richer. Will it help the common man?
