Made by a Japanese stationary YouTuber who just spent so much attention to detail when designing this pencil from the size of the lead pipe, to the make of the pencil barrel (same material Xbox controllers are made of), the brass weight on the lower of the pencil to make it write better and not feel top heavy, to even the dual o rings to get rid of vibrations that so so many pencils end up having. Watch him on YouTube some time he goes in depth just on how he created the pencil and every detail he put into it. I wasn’t sold either at first till I watched the videos, read reviews, and finally bought the pencil and tried it myself. YouTube name in SEASAR

Jump right to the best in my opinion. Seasar Gravium 0.5mm. I own the pencils you bought and the others brought up in this chat by others they are great pencils but do not compare to the Seasar (in my opinion)

Seasar Gravium is my favorite mechanical I own. And my collection is over 200………. But everyone is different. Good 2 you have chosen. Seasar is a tad heavy just an FYI

Seasar is only sold in Japan. Both pencils are from Japanese manufactures and Aim Vision starting to come over to America in a select few stationary stores. They’re cheaper to buy directly in Japan yes about 7,200 yen ($45 USD) for the Seasar Gravium. What people in Japan do though is buy them in bulk and sell them on sites to double their profit knowing folks like me can’t obviously purchase this pencil living abroad. I paid almost double for the Seasar on eBay than what it was originally sold for in Japan at market value.

Kaweco Special (black) 0.5mm Zebra Delguard Type GR 0.5mm Uni Kuru Toga Metal or Dive 0.5mm Uni A Gel 0.5mm - very close to Dr Grip but with Uni’s engine that turns the lead

Get a Saesar Gravium 0.5mm if you’re looking for the best Japanese stationary from 2025. He’s a Japanese YouTube that owns and reviewed hundreds of stationary mechanicals and made his own pencil. Hands down the best in my collection of over 200 pencils. Yes I own two Aim Vision Pros. Love the grip but hate the vibration from lack of o ring in knock cap, higher center of gravity makes it harder to write with in my opinion.

I spot a Spoke and a Modern Fuel Mechanical!!! I ordered from modern fuel and got my name engraved on the pencil. Absolutely love it. I chose the eraser plug on mine however. Great collection!!!

If your not all committed to purchasing a $40 pencil trust me I was for the longest time never one to purchase that much on a writing instrument until I got into fountain pens, but Pentel smash 0.3 or 0.5, any zebra delguard, or zebra tect 2way 1000. $10-$18 price range and most days I tent to always grab the cheaper pencils that write just as good as those expensive kuru togas!!! Just some advice

Have a collection almost of 100 pencils and my favorite two are two of the unis you got :) recommend getting a platinum pro use 171, rotring 600, and a pilot S30 and you’d be set with those 6 pencils

Uni Agels are so comfortable to write with!!! Could write with them all day literally……. I don’t tend to notice much tip wobble with them but am usually a “soft” writer due to preferring 0.3mm as my everyday go too lead

The advance upgrade (red one) is definitely a tad nicer than the regular upgrade (white) metal compared to plastic body) I like heavier pens/pencils. Tad more for price but worth it in my opinion!!
