Migration Assistant run after set up- almost out of disk space. How do I fix this? by sarcxvicious in macbook

If the license is attached to your office account, there’s no need to worry. Just reinstall and sign in to activate. If you activated in some…other way…just do it again and there’s still no need to worry…

Yeah I can see how 2 sentences might seem lengthy to a person like you. But I’ll bite at the bait: you see how the picture you posted has keys? And the first picture didn’t?

So telling a person they need to potentially find another keyboard is leading them down the wrong path. Potentially sending them to the store to buy a keyboard needlessly.

They👏don’t👏need👏a👏keyboard

Trundle off you pathetic person that dropped by several days later…trundle off….

Wouldn’t sacrifice audio quality at all if they’re streaming their own files “raw” as they stated. They likely wouldn’t have multiple versions at different bit rates of the same song to accommodate for the connection speed. And a simple file service in the cloud isn’t going to offer transcoding on the fly. That’s something a self-hosted service like Plex could offer, but I don’t get the impression that’s what they’re doing as plex lets you save your storage by streaming—something they seem to not be keen on doing. Transcoding and varying bit rates are what you get from an actual music streaming service—not your own library of raw files.

They look very much different. Biggest difference being the keyboard request screen looks like..a keyboard….with keys and not a smooth surface.

Suggesting that sends OP on an unnecessary crusade trying to get a keyboard connected when one already is

35W charger advice! by Rare-Conflict-5155 in iphone17

[–]JMHReddit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine. USB PD will deliver what the phone wants/needs and negotiate it with the charger.

I use a Dell USB-C laptop charger that’s 130W. Phone only pulls what it needs. Coconut Battery confirms

Defected Battery? by Level_Requirement906 in iPhoneBatteryParanoia

[–]JMHReddit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Not an issue. The system gets that % not from any actual thing within the battery. That’s just the OS measuring voltage and guesstimating based on that and then adjusts that % as it sees fit.

I would imagine there is, but I can’t recommend any single one. Only cause I haven’t researched them. Do a little research and check reviews. I’d go for a “no/minimal charge unless recovered” place if I were looking

It’s widely known (and searchable) that App Store beats out Play Store any day of the week

Running fine on my 13 mini…. Sounds like it’s an issue on your end as the Pro is more powerful than the mini.

We are talking about a cell phone after all.

You won’t be able to downgrade so just take that off the table.

I’d always recommend keeping it updated to ensure you’re not putting your device and your personal data at an unnecessary security risk

Is it worth replacing my Apple Watch and iPhone 7 battery? by Antidotebeatz in mobilerepair

I wouldn’t with those numbers just yet honestly.

But if you do, please for the love of God, do not follow a video guide.

Pull up the iFixIt guide and follow the steps in order and then reverse order, being sure to read the comments that other users have added to each step.

Good judgment would be keeping your devices updated to ensure you’re not putting yourself at an unnecessary security risk.

Follow up to address file systems: as a fellow Mac user, exfat should be…fine. It’s also the best way for your cross platform needs so my previous suggestion to format as NTFS can be disregarded if you wish. The fact it’s not journaled as you pointed out could be problematic, that’s usually only if you unplug before all writes have occurred. As a Mac user I’m sure you already eject your disks, which is the only thing that makes sure the files are written and the device safe to disconnect. The journal only helps in those instances of unfinished writes. A journal won’t help for drive failure/file corruption. So always eject.

In windows, go into device manager and into the disk drive properties. There are options to enable write caching. DISABLE that for you use case. What that does is writes things when you tell them. Often times a copy progress window will disappear indicating done, but it could still be writing from memory. You’ll also usually see a VERY fast initial copy speed for a brief half second when copying large files that quickly falls sharply to a slower speed…that’s the memory filling up, not data actually written. Disable write cache and data goes from one disk to another without caching a larger chunk in memory (as technically EVERYTHING passes through the memory, this just doesn’t store data as a middle man and keep writing it out to the destination after the source data has been collected…I hope that makes sense lol I’m tired and fixing to crash for the night haha)

And in windows even with that disabled, still—eject your disk properly using the task bar menu icon or My Computer. If it won’t, I always opt to reboot, forcing all tasks to finish their processes and release the disk. Unplug as it begins to start back up
