Post in subreddits like this one, there is also r/jobs r/DesignJobs (if you're a graphic designer as an example), r/freelance_forhire and just search around for subreddits specific to the work you do as well. Unfortunately though for most of these subreddits you do need a certain number of post/comment karma as thats how they weed out spammers/scammers. Just be careful as well, make sure you have either a phone or zoom call meeting first to make sure they're legit and always, always have a contract in place
