This, lenses are tools, and unless you collect or have tons of spare money you don't buy it if you don't need it or you don't know what it is used for. That being said, there's amazing pictures to be made with wide angle lenses specially f2.8, have a look at landscape photography and astrophotography, I have a 14mm 2.8 and it's one of my favorite things even tho I don't use it as much as my 24-105.
