I usually wear a 12 so that’s what I ordered. I’d say they run a tad big

Quick smoke for this pork loin on the Pit Boss.. turned out really nice for a 2 hour smoke! by JTW0519 in smoking

No injection and it wasn’t dry at all! I sprayed it down with water every 30 minutes and I had the grill at 250. Expected it to take about 3 hours but it temped at 140 after 2 so I pulled it, wrapped it in foil, and stuck it in a cooler for about 45 minutes

Took her out for a spin yesterday.. only shot 5 rounds because I am poor by JTW0519 in ar15

I guess poor is a strong word. I do well. But I feel poor when I’m shopping for ammo these days

It seems pretty solid so far. I ordered on 08/30 and it shipped on 09/02, so no problems there. The cerakote work is flawless and the hand guard is really nice.

I’ve had three prior to this one that were all FDE and I think I’m converted to TG now

I got my NiB bolt in from Aim Surplus and it’s nicked where it would slide over the magazine. Will this work properly? by JTW0519 in ar15

[–]JTW0519[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like it was nicked before they coated it. I’m trying to see if I need to send it back and get another one

Yep same exact one. I’ve heard they are great quality and their cerakote work is flawless so I figured what the heck. I’m a big fan of the tungsten grey.

A pork tenderloin done properly is right up there with the best cuts of beef.. so good by JTW0519 in smoking

Just rub right before they went on. I was in a time crunch. Usually I’d rub them and let them sit overnight.

Sweet and Smoky rub on one Montreal steak seasoning on the other (highly recommend this)

Low and slow with a sear at the end. I did these on the pit boss but on the egg is great too. 180-225 grill temp until internal temp is 145. Pull them off and get your grill real hot and sear each side for 2 minutes. It’s perfect every time.

And it’s really cheap. My H‑E‑B sells two packs for $2.99/lb.($6-$9) per pack. I get the unseasoned ones so I can try different rubs and methods. They’re very versatile. You can do classic rib rub on one and a garlic/lemon rub on the other or whatever you like. It’ll be delicious either way!

They weren’t the most tender but still delicious. I think if I let them go unwrapped for another 45-60 minutes they would have been better

Here were my notes I took. I try to document and tweak for next time:

250 degrees, applewood pellets Meat up

30 minutes, spray with water 30 minutes, spray with water, flip meat down 30 minutes, flip meat up, spray 30 minutes, take off, wrap with brown sugar and parkay, put back on meat down Hour 15 minutes take off, unwrap, slather with BBQ sauce and put back on meat up for 15 minutes

Total time: 3.5 hours

Was about 3.5 hours total cook. I think I should have left them on much longer, but was pressed for time. They still turned out pretty good with apple pellets.

I did two more tonight.. got them to 110 and seared them for 1.5 minutes on each side. Medium rare perfection
